Winter Hand Care

Friday, October 12, 2012
What is the first thing you think about when you think about
Winter?
Well, if you live in Michigan like me, your thoughts will veer
towards beautiful, cold, blustery, snowy days and nights.
Along with that you get... dry, cracking, chapped hands - OUCH!
The little snowman band from the SNOW MUCH FUN stamp set
is around a lovely smooth hand lotion in a pale blue color.
So now what is the first thing you think about when you think of
Christmas?
Well, for me, it is the CHRIST in Christmas that makes the Season
worth celebrating! The pretty green is a hand scrub.
Thanks to my gal pal Rachel who helped me band these and get them
ready for the craft sales.  Thankfully Rachel likes to color so she
colored in all of the cute little snowmen!  Thanks Rachel!!

The Ballet Is Back!!

Thursday, October 11, 2012

The Ballet is Back!!  Ballet Magnificat that is, and it is HERE at our church TONIGHT!  If you happen to live in our area please come to see them perform.  The performance is FREE, but a freewill offering will be taken.  Here are the details...
WHO: Ballet Magnificat
WHAT: BEFORE HIS THRONE
WHEN: Thursday, October 11, 2012, 7:00 PM
WHERE: Grace Community Church
                 3500 New Holland
                 Hudsonville, MI 49426
WHY: To proclaim Christ through dance
Here is a statement I got from their blog:
Our heart's desire is to be in that place where we can be of the most service to further His Kingdom.  We are grateful to be a part of the body of Christ, and we pray that God will use our ministry to be a blessing to you.

Our Womens Ministry Director is hosting two of these beautiful dancers in her home and wanted to give them a small gift so asked if I could make up some generic cards (no words) that would be fitting for these beautiful ballerinas.
This is what I came up with .... one of the cute purses I learned how make by France
filled with pretty cards using HELLO DOILY and FIELD FLOWERS in
Crumb Cake,  Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla
I have seen these two stamp sets teamed up in such a variety of colors
by so many different demonstrators that I can't mention just one.
You can see I made up a variety, and I still can't decide which one I like best.
 Up close...
Look I even stamped the Crumb Cake Envelope using the
NEW Illumine Watermark Ink Pad
#126857 $10.95 Ink Pad
#126857 $8.95 Refill
Add a luminescent shimmer to stamped images. Watermark ink for
tone-on-tone shimmer stamping. Acid-free.
Did you notice in the back ground of my one photo??  Dale has the kitchen back splash
tiles grouted and the trim piece on... Take a closer look...

My new sink and my sweetie who does all the hard work

Border Banter

Wednesday, October 10, 2012
Tyler and Gracie come three mornings (and afternoons) a week
and I give them breakfast and get them to school.
One morning I was checking my emails and this card was
featured on Nancy Riley's blog who found it on Pinterest by Amy O'Neil
Gracie saw it sitting there and I think she was drawn to the cute bat.
I told her that I could help her make that card after school if she
wanted, but before she left for school we printed out the BORDER
BANTER items from My Digital Studio, coloring it in like we wanted and
sizing it to our needs. The little medallion is from the
Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit #126914 in the Holiday Mini
Priced to save you 15%! Purchase the Googly Ghouls Stamp
Set and Ghoulish Googlies Designer Printed Kit together.
$20.95 Wood Mount
$16.95 Clear Mount
Make creative treat bags for little goblins. Coordinates with
Googly Ghouls Stamp Set.
• 20 printed double-sided tags: 10 ea. of 2 designs
• 10 glassine bags with die-cut edges: ea. 3" x 5" x 1-1/2"
• 50 adhesive-backed googly eyes (ea. 5 mm)
• 10 pieces Pumpkin Pie/Whisper White Baker’s Twine; ea. 8"
After school we put the card together and Gracie was thrilled to have
a special card to take home with her.

*I am posting a little up date on this post that we would cherish your prayers for our little Gracie as she had to spend some time in the Children's Hospital this week.  It is a frightening thing for a little girl to have IV's and ultrasounds.

Warm Winter Wishes

Monday, October 8, 2012
A Big Thank You to my friend, Marla, who inspired the look of these
pretty winter gloves.  I had a bunch on hand but wanted to "doll them up"
for the craft sales.  Right off the bat she said they would be pretty with
the new Clear Faceted Buttons "sewn" on them using the Cherry
Cobbler Bakers Twine.  BAM!!  She was Right!!
There is one of the largest size button on each cuff attached with
the Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine.  The tag I made was computer
generated but I did use the stamp set TAGS TIL CHRISTMAS
as a watermark with Wild Wasabi Ink behind the words. I'm hoping there
is a pair left over for me to wear this winter!!

Our Red Hot Sketch Challenge for this week...

I can't believe how incredibly tired I have been since the craft sale last Saturday
so when I realized I never prepared a card for todays Sketch Challenge ahead
of time I knew I had to go quick and easy...SO...
I dug in to my box of "lucky leftovers".  I had one little canning jar
left over from the treat holders I made for the craft sale and...
a bag full of buttons that I had cut out with the Button sizzlit so I
created the color of my card around the color of the buttons that I had on hand.
As you can see I flipped the design, then sewed a couple of the biggest
buttons on squares of Natural Twill Tape after fringing the edges.
Super simple card perfect for a last minute creation.

Now Click HERE to see what the other gals did with this Sketch Challenge
