August Cakes

Wednesday, August 31, 2011
It was a BIG cake month for me and I am very thankful!!
Here are the cakes that I made for August...

This first one was made for Lake Michigan Horse and Jockey Association
for their 25th Anniversary celebration

Thank goodness for edible images!!

This next one was for Will
who always loved dump trucks and loaders as a kid

This next one was for my nephew, Nathan, who was visiting from Canada for his 6th birthday.
Nathan loves bright colors and when he draws pictures he is drawn to sketching rainbows.
He said "you can put a sun on it."

I added the pot of gold for good measure

and here is a photo of Nathan and Auntie. You can see he really was happy with his cake.

This Tractor cake was for one year old Elijah. Elijah was one of my special day care kids. He loves to play with cars and tractors and makes the "vvrrrrmmmm" sounds when he plays so they chose a John Deere tractor cake because Grandpa has a John Deere.

Pocahontas cake for Nikki (Will's sister)
Guess they were going retro this year as Nikki always loved Pocahontas as a little girl
(they are now both in their 20's)

The last one I made was for a friend at church whose family celebrated four birthdays so I incorporated their favorite hobbies on one cake

Lynn = Basketball
Tim = Football
Jim = Sketch Artist
Alyssa = the only girl in the bunch got a rose.

Whew!! I wonder what September will offer

Have a Sweet Day!!

Convention Make and Takes

Monday, August 29, 2011
Anytime we attend a Convention, Leadership Conference, or any Regional Conferences, Stampin' Up! has fun Make and Takes for us to make up while we are there. I must admit that the only thing I got done during my Make and Take time was to mount my new stamp sets that came in my bag.

I finally took the time to put them all together
to show to the ladies in my down line
so I wanted to share them with you.

This banner held all the card creations we made.

Fancy Pinwheel

Stamp Set used is called Raining Flowers

3 x 6 card

3x3 Card
I love how they planned such a nice variety of sizes all using the same stamp set.

They also gave us this Workshop In A Bag

And it included...

A Cello Bag of four Tags that you can gift your hostess with
I LOVE the little clothes pin clips..

A cute card to demonstrate at a workshop using the new Stamp Set called
EASY EVENTS

And enough supplies to make 10 of these pocket cards
for your Make and Take at a Workshop.
Now with all this help, how can you NOT be a good demonstrator.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get caught up on my blogging, but hopefully everything is settling down and I will be able to keep on top of it.

Another Sketch Challenge

Saturday, August 27, 2011
Here is a sketch challenge from Techno Stamper. I saw it on Glenda's blog yesterday
and thought I would give it a try.

I had just received a shipment from Stampin' Up! and my new stamp set called TURTLE AND CO. was calling my name to be used so I thought this was a perfect time to use it and participate in a sketch challenge all at the same time.

I think adding the little google eyes just makes this little turtle come to life.
An added benefit to purchasing this stamp set is that it is the Ronald McDonald Stamp Set where Stampin' Up! gives $2.00 of the proceeds from this set to support the Ronald McDonald House.

Click HERE to place an order at my on line site if you want to purchase this cute stamp set or any other products that you see used on my blog.

C3 Challenge

You may remember the Candy Color Challenge I issued to my down line gals. This card was made by Marlane using the colors in the Bit O Honey candy wrapper. She even went the extra step and added the cute little bees from a retired Stamp Set called "Just Buzzin' By."

Have a Honey of a Day!!

A Day At The Zoo

Sunday, August 21, 2011
Our day at John Ball Zoo MUST begin with the traditional photos at
John Ball's Statue.

While we waited for everyone else to arrive I had to snap some photos of
our grandchildren, Tyler and Gracie.
They were very cooperative so it made it extra fun.

Gracie insisted on wearing her giraffe dress..."after all Gramma, it IS a ZOO!"

You can never have too many pictures taken with your grand kids.

My sister Judy with 2 of her 6 grand kids

My sister Vicky with 3 of her 9 grand kids

My sweet parents - celebrating 65 years of marriage in September

(my sister Lynette's grand children did not want to cooperate so we didn't push it but you saw their pictures two days ago on my blog)

Vivi, Sylvia and Gracie declared themselves to be the "ZOO GIRLS"

"1-2-3 ZOO GIRLS!" - it was so cute to hear them cheering.
They would have to stop every so often in the zoo to do their little cheer.

Gracie and Tyler paid their $1.00 to feed the Bungee Birds

The kids were more excited to see this cute little bunny stopping to
munch some grasses than they were to see the lions

It was a fun day out with family and it has been quite a while since
I have been to the John Ball Zoo.

I am still waiting to get the photos of my sisters, parents and myself, but I will share them with you when they come to my in box.

Have a Blessed Day!!
