Christi's Creative Crew: Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my daddy's 95th birthday!

This is the card that I made for him

Dad uses a walker on a regular basis but he is still able to drive around town for small trips to the grocery store or the hardware store. He definitely does NOT look 95!! He loves to play online golf and can play a mean game of checkers. Most of all, he loves the Lord with all his heart and has raised us to love Him too. He and Mom made a great team. She has been gone nearly 3 years now, and days like this can sometimes be harder for him.

Dad served in WW11 in the US Navy. He has quite the stories to tell. Some we never heard of while growing up, but as he got older he was able to share.

If this wasn't reason enough to celebrate, my sister and brother in law flew in from AZ on Sunday so they could be here for his birthday. We have plans for a fun day out today with all my sisters and dinner out tonight with dad and all the sisters and brothers in law.

I will have to post a picture on a later post.

A second reason to celebrate is that my brother in law from AZ is helping Dale paint the main level of our house. We have only lived here for 5 years but often times there is cracking of walls when a new house settles, and ours sure had a fair amount of spots to fix along with some damage that the dogs have made on some of the corner walls.

Dale painted the entire basement and my craft room (which takes up the entire 1/2 of the basement) in April by himself and did a great job. I'm sure he could paint the main level too, but with the high ceilings and our desire to do some extras PLUS my brother in law LOVES to paint. Go figure!! I will be so glad to have this project completed. We couldn't be more thankful that he is willing to help.

Dale has been so very busy with his job at church and all the projects that they have been in for over a year now that he has had a hard time picking a time that he could actually take off. I love his work ethic and his excellence at it, but I also don't want him to burn out.
