Remodel Update

Sunday, July 10, 2011
Just thought I would give you an update on how we are coming with our remodeling job...

The painting is all done on the main level ...
(with the exception of the bathroom - which is a whole separate project later)

The Painters did a FABULOUS job on spraying the cabinets, trim work,
and doors from the dark wood of the 80's

to a clean crisp white.

You can see that Dale removed the cabinet on the left which was a huge sight barrier and it helped to open it up so much. He also removed the cabinets above the refrigerator space to allow our new refrigerator (when it comes) to fit. And who really uses those high cabinets anyway?
Not me, I would need an extra high chair to get anything out of those.

Then Dale went to work on painting the walls while the Painters finished
up the doors and cabinet fronts in the garage.
I helped out by taping all the trim for him.

COLOR # 1
Not sure what the pallet called it, but it is the same
color we used in the house as an accent color and we loved it.
It was some sort of a RAISIN color, but it is almost like the
CHERRY COBBLER from the Stampin' Up! Regals Color Collection

COLOR #2 for the Living Room/Dining Room and Hallway
SWING BROWN

COLOR #3 for the Kitchen and Entryway
EMERGING TAUPE

COLOR #4 Master Bedroom
RENWICK BEIGE

COLOR #5 Computer Room
TRADEWIND
However, we thought it was too "baby" blue so we went back and they added as much
black as they could w/o it going nasty, and now we have this color that is more grayish.

You can see we went with a lot of the neutral colors, except for our eye popping Cherry Cobbler Accent Wall, and Dale's computer room with the blue/gray walls

...and now we are on to the next project...Installing the laminate flooring.
Friends of ours recently did a beautiful job installing their own laminate in their kitchen
so they encouraged us to give it a whirl, and since Dale is such a handy guy we thought
"why not save a few bucks",
so here we are beginning the Laminate Journey...

This all needs to be installed by the 15th when the carpet gets installed.
I can hardly wait! When I get home from Convention it will be a whole new home for me with the not only the carpet being installed, we will finally have cable and internet access at the house and I won't have to go to my parents every time I want to blog or check my email.

Thanks for taking this journey with us

Have A Blessed Day!!
