Looks Like a Puzzle to Me

It all started with a visit to the Pinterest Site when I saw this handy dandy 2 tier pots and pans storage.

Pretty sweet isn't it?! I showed it to Dale who also thought it would be great.  Next think I know he buys it and installs it.

What else is my hubby up to on his day off?

CUPBOARDS!! He is beginning the upper cupboards in my basement kitchen!  I can hardly wait until they are done, stained and ready to put things in them.  I love it when things are organized!!

Now in the spirit of Pinterest I will share a card that I CASED from Bev Watt, that I found on the Pinterest site.  I love punch art and I thought this baby hippo was so cute...

I tracked back to the original creator of this hippo and her name is Kim Score.  You can check out her blog HERE.  She charges for the tutorial (she has quite a variety) so I will not post what I used or any directions.

Evening of Amore'

Each year at Valentine's our youth group puts on their annual fund raiser to raise money for their mission trips.  They do a fabulous job of transforming the sanctuary into a variety of venues.  The first year was CHICAGO, and we also had HAWAII, CRUISE SHIP, THE 50's, LONDON, ITALY, etc. They have open and closed auctions and many of us donate items to sell so the youth group gets the proceeds.  This year the theme was NEW YORK CITY and our dinner was themed to take place in CENTRAL PARK.  We are all encouraged to dress accordingly.  This is such a wide open range of ideas how to dress, and many times Dale and I do not participate, but this year we decided to have some fun with it.  Our choice was for Dale to dress as a Zoo Keeper and I would be an animal from the zoo.  My friend had a kangaroo costume so I borrowed that.  Dale hooked a pouch of candy corn to his belt to "feed" me since we all know that kangaroos eat corn!! haha!! My friend Becky who has the applique sewing machine made Dale this Zoo Keeper Badge for his shirt.  Isn't it great!!

Tyler let Grampa borrow his Curious George Monkey and now we make a cute pair. BTW - we took third place for our costumes! (We lost out to a bag lady and the Statue of Liberty). Staying in character I didn't talk, but did a lot of smiling, and gesturing because we all know that kangaroos don't talk!  Dale had to be very attentive to know what I needed all night...it was great!

We ate typical New York foods and purchased "stocks" at the NY Stock Exchange (donating money for our missionary to take some of their group on their first mission trip)

Butterfly Kisses

A Week ago I had the privilege to host a Father/Daughter event for 6 lovely young ladies and their dads.  One of the dads approached me to see if I would be willing to do this for them...WOULD I??!! YOU BET!! 

Our theme for the night (thanks Glenda) was "Butterfly Kisses" after the sweet father daughter song by Bob Carlisle.  You can enjoy listening to this song here...

My friend Rachel and I put our heads together and came up with this fun project...
A two card portfolio ...

 

We used some Doilies, Natural Trim, and Linen Thread and the dads got to use the "tools."  They cut and embossed foil to make this fun treat bag filled with Kisses!  They also smashed the new SODA POP TOPS with the BIG SHOT for the front of the portfolio.

 

The dads got right in there helping their girls with the stamping as well

The cards were made with the Note Cards and Envelopes, and the portfolio was made with two Medium Envelopes.

Snowman In A Jug

Last week our grand kids had their mid winter break from school (never mind the three or four snow days they just had prior to this) so they got to spend those days with Gramma and Grampa.  We sectioned out our time so that they didn't spend the entire day in front of a screen of some sort.  After lunch they were excited to go outside to play in the snow.  It was a beautiful day out and the snow was perfect for packing.  The kids brought along their "Snowman in a jug" with all the parts to adorn their snowman, and away they went.

Well, the snowman didn't make it to full height and Gracie didn't last as long as Tyler did, but it was good for them to be out in the fresh air.

So this got me to thinking about a "snowman in a jug", so using the stamp sets PERFECTLY PRESERVED and STYLIN' SNOWFOLK I went to work to create this card...

All the pieces are in the jar ready to create the perfect snowman

I did cheat a little by using the jar lid stamp from an old retired set call ALL WRAPPED UP.  the snowman and all his accessories are from the stamp set STYLIN' SNOWFOLK.

Princess Time

One of the sweet gals in our church was voted to be the junior class representative at her schools homecoming.  She looked so pretty in her beautiful gown.  She certainly deserved it as she has an amazing heart.  I wanted to make this cute card inspired by Jennifer Thomas for her as a congratulations.

I embossed on the inside as well and I think it gave it a elegant look for Princess Madison.

Did you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday?! I sure did!! Hubby took a half day off work so we could go to our favorite restaurant for brunch, and since it is closed on Monday's (his normal day off) and is only open from 7am-2pm we are a bit limited on when we can go.
In the afternoon I had the privilege to deliver some Valentine Cookies

for a young friend who is serving in Guatemala at an orphanage with her family and wanted a special Valentine Treat for her boyfriend here.  So after we came home I delivered those to the High School, then treated myself to a manicure.  At night we went to see a movie!  And lookie... this is what my Hubby gave me for Valentine's Day...SPARKLY!!  I am a very blessed wife, mother and grandmother (daughter, sister, friend)!! (I wear many hats)

Valentine Treats

These are the valentine treats that I helped Gracie make for her first grade class at school. It took Gracie a bit of time to settle on what she wanted to make, but when she saw the giraffe and the monkey in the stamp set FOX and FRIENDS she knew this was the one.  They will be having fun today at their class parties.

Today is also my Honey's birthday so I made this card for him using My Digital Studio and the BE MINE template.  I copied the template which is an 8 1/2" x 11" so was able to size it down.  I used the color combination of Blush Blossom, Going Gray, and Cherry Cobbler,  from a fellow demonstrators suggestion.  We are looking forward to a brunch out at a favorite restaurant and then he still has to work the rest of the day.  So thankful for his job that allows him to go in late.
