Pink Camouflage

Tuesday, June 6, 2017
My great-niece (my niece's daughter) who is attending college to be a veterinarian.  She is one of those kids that stand above.  As a homeschooled student she ended her high school years at age 17, also taking on-line college courses to shorten her college years.  During her high school years she also participated in the ROTC program.
During her Freshman year in college she applied to be in the ROTC program there, and was accepted!!
My sister, (her grandma) asked me to make a special card for her.
I borrowed some military themed stamps from my friend and since the images are all masculine I chose the combat boots, because even the girls in the army need to wear combat boots.
I wanted to make the camouflage pink, but not too over powering.
The combat boots were stamped on Whisper White and fussy cut.
I used a retired punch for the dog tags and some Silver Shimmer (R) Card Stock and heat embossed the CONGRATS on the top one. I pulled out some small chain I had on hand and secured it in the back.
The technique I used is  a simple ink pad swipe using Old Olive and Soft Suede on Blushing Bride Card Stock.
I hope you are inspired to make specialty cards for your friends and family. Pull out those retired stamp sets and combine them with some new stamps and accessories.
