Painted Petals Mini Treat Bag

While prepping for todays COME STAMP WITH ME class and making this card for the ladies to make today...
I ended up with a ton of leftovers (lucky leftovers) so I got to work making some 3x3 notes.  If you purchase anything through me as your demonstrator you are likely to find one of these in your bag.
When Stampin' Up! retired the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder I was shocked and a little dismayed because it was my go-to for texturizing a background, BUT look... a new favorite - ELEGANT DOTS Embossing Folder.  I love it, LOVE it, LOVE IT!
So pop on over today for some fun stamping between 10am and 5pm to COME STAMP WITH ME.  Have any questions - the details are on the side bar of this blog or you can contact me HERE

STAY TUNED!! Stampin' Up! gave us demonstrators a heads up of BONUS DEALS starting tomorrow, June 30-August 3rd.  They will be adding new items to the CLEARANCE RACK up to 60% off AND some BONUS DEALS on the WEEKLY DEALS.  I'm not sure what all they are, but they did say that they are "While Supplies Last", so shop early for the best deals.
Now on to the regular blog:
Our church has had the Annie Moses Band in concert three different times now, and it is always our best attended concerts.  They are simply amazing!
This family hosts a summer intensive study for kids ages 10-19 (approx). Called FINE ARTS SUMMER ACADEMY (FASA). They help these kids with anything in the music field and at the end of the 2 weeks they put on a HUGE concert at The Grand Ole Opry!
It is totally amazing the talents of these kids. One of the gals from our church went last year - and let me tell you she is sooooo good on the Djembe,

plus Alyssa sings beautifully-a double whammy!  She will be going again this summer along with another gal from church who can SING!!!! This will be Anna's first year at FASA.  You may remember Anna from this previous blog post. We wanted to encourage these girls on this adventure with a small gift and this is the card that I made for the girls
One of the new families to our church is also sending their son to FASA. I love it when people start church and jump right in to ministry.  Adam plays his guitar during our worship time and I LOVE to see the teens taking ownership of their church and worship!!  So along with his gift, this is the card that I made him
I hope you enjoy the music of Annie Moses!

Our Gracie-girl had her dance recital this past month and it is always a joy to watch her dance.  I tell her to dance for Jesus!!  She has great form!! We are so proud of her!
So cute how her little friends wanted to come to watch her dance
And this is the card that I made for her
Even though she was wearing a blue(ish) color costume I couldn't resist making this one in pink - her favorite color - plus the carnations that I brought to the recital were pink too!

I love this card that Glenda Calkins made and had on her blog, and I love the new Cherry On Top Designer Paper Stack that she used.
In fact, the polka-dotty pattern is my favorite, but you only get 4-6"x6" sheets.  I have nearly used up all of that patterned paper, but when planning for my Tuesday Come Stamp With Me class I came across the retired Designer Paper Painted Blooms and thought I would give it a try with this polka dotty pattern.
The beauty of my Come Stamp With Me Tuesday class is that I have the freedom to use my retired stamps and accessories.
So  - What do you think?? This card will be out for the July 7th class - plan ahead to Come Stamp With Me!!

Go Wild Paper Stack

Thursday, June 25, 2015
I was pretty excited when I saw that Stampin' Up! put some animal print Designer Paper in the new catalog.  Take a look ...
Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

I must admit that as excited as I was to have this in our line up I was drawing a blank as to what I was going to use it for.
At the Projects Class this week we made the cute Domed Boxes by Sam Donald, and I let the gals pick out whatever Designer Paper they wanted whether retired or current.
They used the NEW Cotton Paper (page 148) to make the cute flower on top.
I chose to use the GO WILD Designer Paper Stack for mine... and I love the way it turned out!
Our Gracie loves giraffes so I chose this print for her.  My flower was made using the FILTER PAPER (page 148).  After the flower was all made I rolled it in the Melon Mambo ink pad.  Now I can't wait to see what else I will make with this cute paper!

Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, June 21, 2015
One of the fun things I have in my stamping/craft room is this adorable Owl that has a great story behind it.
I wanted to feature each of my "girls" as an element on the walls of my craft room.  The very first element that went on the wall was the cute butterflies from way-back-when when Stampin' Up! sold Wall Decor.  I bought a couple sets of the butterflies knowing that I would want them some day.  My daughter in law, Melissa, loves butterflies so these are up in honor of her.  I popped on some colorful butterflies using the Butterfly Framelits.
My Daughter, Julie, loves owls so I knew I wanted to put up an owl somewhere, and my daughter in law, Jessica loves music so I needed to incorporate some musical notes as well.  This is what we came up with...
The owl was designed from the sweater that I bought Gracie for Christmas last year.  This is where the "sentimental" part comes in... Guess who painted the owl on my wall?
You got it! My 88 year old father did all the work.  I wasn't terribly happy about him standing on a ladder the whole time, but he did GREAT!
 Checking out his work
 The finished product!
Now I just need to have him autograph it and it will be complete.
So all my girls have a place on my wall and so does my Daddy!!

So, You want to sign on to be a part of my team?

Thursday, June 18, 2015
So you want to join Stampin’ Up!?
So, you’ve been shopping with Stampin’ Up! for a while, and you like the idea of being part of the amazing Stampin' Up! company and getting discounts and perks, but you’re not sure that you want to demonstrate.

That’s okay!
Many demonstrators don’t actually demonstrate!  They simply enjoy buying the amazing products at the 20% discount that all demonstrators get!
The majority of my team are demonstrators like this.  They affectionately call themselves "hobbyists" because they’re feeding their hobby and loving it! I treat all my team the same, no matter what ‘type’ of demo they are.
I actually signed up with Stampin' Up! (in 2008) because I wanted to reap the benefits of the discount.  Who would have known all these years later that I would be enjoying my own team of amazing ladies.  Each month we have a team meeting to discuss what's new at Stampin' Up! I don’t believe in telling people they ought to go and sell or do workshops, nor do I put pressure on anyone to promote or recruit.  It’s simply a great place to hang out and chat, where we share ideas and have a make 'n take.
NOW is the best time to sign on because up through June 30th you can get 2 FREE stamps sets in your Starter Kit along with your $125.00 allowed product for only $99.00 (plus tax - no shipping).  This could easy bring your kit value up to $175-$200 depending on the stamps you choose.  To even sweeten the pot, if you sign up to join Christi's Creative Crew during my New Catalog Open House on Friday (19th) 6p-9p or Saturday (20th) 10a-2p you will get to choose one of these GRAB BAGS filled with Stampin' Up! goodies.
So stop on by to my New Catalog Open House to check out all the fun new products, Take advantage of signing up as a demonstrator, sign up for a ribbon share (more on that in tomorrows post), fabulous demonstrations and ideas galore.  I will also be having my Buy 1 Get 1 sale with my retired stamp sets. - More on that in tomorrows post too. (I've got to keep you wanting more!!)

Busy Week!! = Open House

Wednesday, June 17, 2015
The biggest thing keeping me busy this week (besides 2 classes) is that my NEW CATALOG OPEN HOUSE is this FRIDAY and SATURDAY.  the good part of scheduling events like this Open House is that it forces me to declutter.  Oh, Yea, for regular classes the ladies don't mind me having some current projects out, or even some Craft Sale items out to sell, but for an Open House I need all the usable space that I can get for Demonstrations, Make 'n Takes, Class Sign-ups, Snacks, etc.  Want to come??!! I sure do hope so because it is going to be a blast!
HERE are the details:
WHEN: You have 2 options: Friday, June 19, 6-9pm or Saturday, June 20, 10am-2pm
There will be:
  • Door prize drawings
  • Demonstrations
  • Make and Takes
  • Buy 1 Get 1 deals
  • Chance to sign up for upcoming classes
  • Snacks
No need to RSVP but I would love to hear if you are coming.
Here is a quick sample of one of the cards that will be out on display using some the NEW items found in the NEW CATALOG (I don't want to give away all the fun you will find at the open house)
My friend, and fellow Red Hot Stamper, Rachel, made this tag using the SPRINKLES OF LIFE stamp set with coordinating TREE BUILDER Punch. The bag is made using the NEW Gift Bag Punch Board.  The best part of this stamp set is that it is the designated 2015-16 Ronald McDonald House Charities and for every stamp set sold Stampin' Up! donates $3 to this worthy charity.

This is one of the cards that the ladies will be making tonight

Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, June 14, 2015
It was such a joy to attend Kelly's High School Graduation Open House a couple weeks ago.  You may have seen the cakes I made for her on this previous post. But I wanted to show you the "card" I made for her using the Paper Pumpkin Kit from February 2015.
Kelly and her brother Lake were so much fun to take care of and I had them for 13+ years
"Look Auntie, I'm a Rainbow!" (Kelly)
In the areas where there are blank pages is where I wrote special messages to her.
This is definitely NOT how the Paper Pumpkin was intended.  It is such a great monthly subscription. I just wanted to show you that you do NOT need to follow the "rules" where the Paper Pumpkin is concerned.  In fact, I like changing things up a bit each month.
You can get your own subscription to Paper Pumpkin by clicking HERE.  It is so fun to anticipate what might be in it each month.  Sometimes it is cards and other times it is 3D items, but they all are great!
