This past week when Gracie had a day with Gramma she brought over her composition book that she will be using for her journal in THIRD GRADE for me to help her decorate. YOU BET! She had a bunch of ideas because the teacher said to decorate it with things you like, but once we got down in the craft room she went for her favorite stamp: SWALLOWTAIL, and asked if we could stamp that on the front. Gracie's favorite color is pink so I pulled out some retired Pretty In Pink card stock for the front to stamp the Swallowtail on. Then of course she needed her name on the front so I pulled out my retired Varsity Letters Stamp Set which was perfect because Gracie is in Cheerleading now and she said that the letters looked like a cheerleader letter! We used Silver Encore Ink for both the Swallowtail and her name, then heat embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool. Gracie did all the heating herself with only supervision from Gramma. She chose a designer paper from my retired box for the back and binding combo, then we sponged some Baja Breeze ink for the feel of clouds.
Gracie also wanted to incorporate her love of giraffes so she pulled out ZOO BABIES and went to work stamping the cute little zoo animals on each page down in the right hand corner. She stuck right with it until every page had an animal on it.
Each animal had a color of it's own - you can see how she lined up her inks and placed the stamp right on it because she KNOWS that Gramma doesn't want her to mix up the inks.
She's in all her glory! I think I will have another recruit when she turns 18!
