Happy 16th Birthday!!

Even the leaves and the rose (from GRACEFUL GARDEN Stamp Set) are stamped onto the Designer Paper in this gorgeous stack of paper. (using Soft Suede ink)

Today is also our oldest grandsons 16th birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER!!!
This is Tyler's card and gifts.  I love to coordinate, but this one actually happened by accidental.
The card was created a while back and used as a COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY class card, but since Tyler's favorite beverage is Dr Pepper I thought it would be perfect for him too.

Then when I was looking up ideas for something clever I came up with this idea.

AND...we always give the grand kids the dollar amount of how old they are, and since Tyler also loves Pizza - I thought this was so appropriate for him. (We are talking teen boy here now!!)

When our children have a birthday we invite the couple or family over for a dinner of their choice, but for the grand kids we let them choose the restaurant of their choice and they get a night with Gramma and Grampa. This year (again) Tyler chose On The Border Restaurant. He is our Mexican food loving kid!!

Life is just going so fast when you watch this next generation grow up.

Graceful Garden

This is another card that the ladies made at the May Stamp a Stack Classes

Inspired by Peggy, this card features the stamp set GRACEFUL GARDEN and a hostess exclusive stamp set BACKGROUND BITS

The Dies used are from ECLECTIC LAYERS

The background was created using the PATTERN PARTY DECORATIVE MASKS some ink and a sponge dauber.

On this card the colors used are Powder Pink and Flirty Flamingo with Always Artichoke for the leaves.  Always Artichoke is one of the colors leaving us so if it is a favorite of yours, now is the time to get some before it is gone forever.

I'm so excited about the new Stampin' Blends Markers!  As of now Stampin' Up! does not have a firm release date, but for demonstrators we can order them through the 15th of October.

The 12 colors come in a light and a dark, sold separately or as a combo pack. Plus Ivory, Bronze and a Color Lifter (for when you make a little oops!)
I spent some time yesterday playing with my very own set!!

Coloring in small areas like the flowers on this bicycle basket was made super easy with the Stampin' Blends because each marker comes with a brush tip and a fine tip.

Last, but not least, I heat embossed this beautiful rose from GRACEFUL GARDEN in silver and colored it in with the Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Blends.  

Here are some Stampin' Blends Tips:

1. You need to use Memento Black Ink or Heat emboss your image. If you use Archival Black Ink or any of our regular Ink Pads it will bleed.

2. You will NOT, I repeat, NOT color directly onto your stamps with the Stampin' Blends Markers. Instead use your Stampin' Write Markers, or a Classic Ink Pad.

3. You can layer your color to get a deeper color in areas you want to highlight. The rose was colored with the Daffodil Delight Dark Stampin' Blend and then where I wanted to highlight darker petals I just went over it again once or twice.  With the leaves I started with the Pear Pizzazz Light Stampin' Blend and then highlighted with the dark.

4. The Color Lifter will soften the color that you might happen to color outside the line.

5. Replace the cover immediately to keep it from drying out.
