Weekly Challenge

Last weeks weekly challenge for my team was to make a Floating Card.

I sent them a short how-to video based on a card that I CASED from Amanda Bates

Then I challenged them to make their own card using the fold concept and change it up

They had fun with it and seemed (for the most part) to like this type of fold.

Karen made another get well card for hers - and knowing Karen, she sends out a ton of cards to the people at church and I am sure that they are completely encouraged by it. She used the Perennial Essence Designer Paper which is on SALE on the Retiring List for only $8.05 (#149100)

The second card came in from Linda B and this is Linda's first time to join in on our challenge which makes me super happy. Linda actually made 2 cards using this fold and I see she added Designer paper to the inside of her cards which is very pretty

Next we have a card from Vicki - I'm not sure on this DSP, but what friend wouldn't appreciate getting a card like this.

Anna used Painted Poppies stamp Set and the coordinating Designer paper

This next card is from Shirley

Shirley used the Clubhouse stamp set and the coordinating Designer Paper

This next card is from Inez. She did a flip on the orientation of her card and look how cute it turned out! She used BACK ON YOUR FEET stamp set and some retired Designer Paper. She even used 2 of our new In-Colors - Just Jade and Bumblebee

Pressed Petals Washi Flower

This is one of the cards that we made at the July Stamp a Stack Classes. You may remember seeing it posted HERE

This is the original card I planned

I love the PRESSED PETALS SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.

This is what Stampin' Up! says about this gorgeous paper:

Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper is a lightweight paper with photographic images of real pressed petals on one side and vintage designs on the other. One design has distinct designs to cut out and use on card fronts.

* 24 sheets of specialty patterned paper: 4 each of 6 double-sided designs
* 12" x 12"
* Acid free
* Lignin free

Coordinating colors: Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Rococo Rose, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla

Another VERY COOL product is the PRESSED PETALS SPECIALTY WASHI TAPE

I wanted to make a beautiful flower with the washi petals, but it was on back order so I settled for the FLORAL ESSENCE Stamp Set and coordinating PERENNIAL FLOWER PUNCH

Pretty - YES! But thankfully the Washi Tape arrived the day before the class and I was able to make up this gorgeous 3D Washi Tape Petal Flower and added a PERENNIAL ESSENCE FLORAL CENTER.

GORGEOUS! I changed up the sentiment using the MAGNOLIA BLOOMS Stamp Set featured in the Beginner's Brochure.

I only wish I had stamped my "Happy Birthday" more to the left.

TIP: When making flowers using the PRESSED PETALS SPECIALTY WASHI TAPE you will want to grab your EMBOSSING BUDDY to help remove some of the sticky so that your flower can curl up. Start with a 3/4" circle to build your flower on. I made this flower with 6 petals on the bottom and 4 petals for the top layer.

I had 9 ladies attend classes plus my sample card each using 10 petals - so now I know that there are 100 petals on this Washi Tape reel.

Super Cute! Super Easy!

My leaves were punched with the LEAF PUNCH using the same Designer Paper Stack. - It's the one with the musical notes.
