Waiting for Baby Part 2

Tuesday, February 4, 2014
One of the things I REALLY wanted to do when we found out that Jessica was expecting was to give her a journal to write in while they wait for Baby Waite to arrive.  I bent the ear of two of the My Digital Studio Reps at Leadership and then still ended up calling them up for further instruction (I am so thankful to work for a company that has such patient employees)

This is what I came up with...

While I was at Leadership I also spent some time at the UNDEFINED station.  UNDEFINED is where you can design your own stamp.  I never purchased it because I wanted to see how others used it first and to see if it would be something I wanted to invest in.  This is what your kit comes with...  4 wood blocks, 1 stamp rubber, 1 piece of CLEAR MOUNT CLING FOAM in case you want to make it a clear block stamp, 1 Island Indigo Marker and 2 cool carving tools.  One is for larger areas and the other for finer, precise areas.

This is what the refill kit looks like (sorry about my finger in the photo)

Since I knew I wanted to make the journal using a cloud pattern I thought I would make a cloud stamp.  I left it inked up so you could see it better in the photo

When the journal arrived I stamped the cloud image on each page.  I thought it would be a great place for Jess to put the date or a special scripture verse in it when she journaled.

This could be habit forming!!

Here's another idea I got from Pinterest - a pin for the Gramma to be.  I made one for myself and one for Jess' mom as well.

I printed the little baby and words using MY DIGITAL STUDIO and punched it out to fit the smashed bottle cap.  The beads were found at a local specialty shop where I can purchase beads singly.  After I chose the design and how I wanted it to look, Dale helped me to put it all together.  He really is a handy hubby!!  I think I will keep him!!

Time for a little masculine feel for a Craft Sale item!

I had a bunch of Nautical Designer Paper left over so thought I would put it
to good use on this masculine journal which was inspired by Deanna Tam.

Wouldn't this be a great idea for a guy teacher?  I hear mom's say how hard
it is to come up with a great teacher gift for the guys, well... here's one!!

Making these journals are as easy as 1-2-3
Just cover a composition book with Designer Paper and Voila`
Although adding a few clever stamps and punches really
makes it extra special.

Come see us at our next Craft Sale in Hamilton MI if you live in our area

You're a Star!

Saturday, April 21, 2012

My Friend wanted a special notebook made for her brother who participated in the Special Olympics on a basketball team.  Jeff loves to draw and write and this notebook is probably filled in completely by the time I post this, but it was fun to make a special one just for him.

While I'm at it I will show you the journals that I made for the four gals
who were on the Women's Retreat Committee with me.

I couldn't resist making each gal a Petite Purse with a treat
Who knows, maybe this cute purse may end up being one
of the treats for next years Women's Retreat

As a Thank you the Women's Ministry gives us gals a separate night at the Haworth Inn and Conference Center so we can read all the evaluation forms from the ladies and do a post retreat recap.  This is a fun time for the five of us to spend some time together that is not work.
In fact, this is where we are right now.

Click HERE if you missed the post on our Women's Retreat.

This was the first year that we had a group photo taken and I wanted to incorporate that photo along with the color scheme (brown and red) for the retreat.  I also wanted to make each one just a bit different from the others.  I chose a retired Designer Paper called Love Letter.  It has always
been one of my favorite Designer Papers that Stampin' Up! has had.

Thanks For Stopping By!

Have a Blessed Day!!

Remember When

Thursday, April 28, 2011
Craft Sale Season is generally not until the fall season, but if I wait until fall or even late summer to get started I will go bonkers so as the ideas come across my path I set them aside or make them up so I have a head start, but I must admit I am having a hard time making Santa Claus/Christmas items. I can't say that journals are my BEST sellers, but when I saw how these were decorated I KNEW that I had to make them because they are GORGEOUS! and CLASSY!!

This journal was inspired by Julie Marshall, and I think it is my favorite. The designer paper is called Night and Day and is on the Clearance Rack. Click HERE to shop my Stampin' Up! website, and take a look at the Clearance Rack, you might find exactly what you have been looking for, and I must admit - the price is RIGHT!!

This second journal was inspired by Deana. I love the look of the brown with pink. Instead of Designer Paper I stamped the floral from Embrace Life on Crumb Cake card stock with Early Espresso ink. Deana actually added a bunch of ribbon roses and pearls to hers, but I was thinking "less may be more" in this situation. I still love the look!

Have a Blessed Day!

DSCF2004DSCF2006Back View

Wanted to make up a simple gift for Tyler and Gracie to give to my two day care girls during our gift exchange.  I had two notebooks on hand, but wanted to make them age appropriate for the girls.  Then I remembered the Storybook DSP I had on hand.  I was able to get one journal covered with one sheet of the DSP.  Then I used some retired DSP from 2009’s Sale-a-bration flyer.  I was so thankful to have the colored pencils on hand to round out the fun gift.  The girls can color their own cover as well as draw, write or whatever they choose on the pages inside.  I can hardly wait to start earning more FREE merchandise during 2010 Sale-a-bration starting January 5 – March 30th.  When you purchase $50 in merchandise you get one item free from the Sale-a-bration flyer.  If you were one of my customers in 2009 you should be receiving your copy in the mail soon.
