Step it up

Thursday, December 15, 2016
This is one of the cards that was out for the ladies to stamp at the COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY CLASS.  The beauty of my Tuesday class is that I can use current or retired stamps and product.  The ladies come when they can and leave when they must with my doors open all day.  I love to see who will come each week.  This past week the cards sold out faster than ever - except this card.
So I thought I would step-it-up a bit by stamping a black rose (from Stippled Blossoms - retired) with gold embossed highlights to pop up on top of the Birthday Blooms image that I embossed in gold onto Vellum.
Which one do you like best?
I would love to have you join us for this fun day of stamping.  Have questions?  Click HERE to contact me.

Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, August 9, 2015
This past week our youngest son Joey and his wife Melissa celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary. I'm sure I don't need to tell you all how much we love our kids and we are happy to celebrate their anniversary with them.  I saw a cute triple gift card holder by Lorri Heiling and I wanted to give it a try.  What better excuse than a wedding anniversary!
I'm sure Joey and Melissa would love all of these gift cards but this is just staged.  Yes, they got a gift card, but I put notes in the other slots. Love to treat our kids special.
I made a cute little box for the gift card to fit into using the fabulous NEW Thick Whisper White card stock.  Why make a plain box when you can make an elegant box?

According to Hallmark the 3rd anniversary gift is Leather for Traditional and Crystal/Glass for Modern - I took a few liberties on the Modern, Crystal/Glass when I found these cute napkin rings and napkins.  The kids love my "Hallmark" style of gift giving for their anniversaries that they look it up before the date and try to guess what I will come up with.

Stipple Blossom

Monday, August 3, 2015
for Throwback Thursday I pulled out my retired but reliable STIPPLE BLOSSOM Stamp Set.  We made this card a couple weeks ago at the COME STAMP WITH ME class.
It was a great hit and several of the ladies made more than one, changing up the sentiment for what they needed most.
With the "lucky leftovers" that I had had from cutting all the Designer Paper I decided to make some 3x3 cards.
I put 8 in a box and added envelopes and some wrapped Hershey Nuggets and it makes a perfect gift.  I was only able to make one so will put it in the craft sale unless you want it for $6.00!! "First come, first served"

Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, September 7, 2014
Last June my dear friend, Rachel, said her last good-byes to her mom after a six month battle with cancer.  Our friend Marla and I purchased a yellow rose bush for Rachel to plant in her yard as a memory for her mother.  Our prayer is that it will bring her joy each time this pretty rose bush blooms.
And this is the card that I made to go with it.
I used the same layout that I used for this card from a COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY CLASS, but I wanted it to coordinate with the yellow rose bush we bought Rachel.  I also used the NEW cotton ribbon!  SWEET RIBBON!

Stippled Thank You

Wednesday, August 6, 2014
The one card that I have a hard time keeping on hand is sympathy cards and it is sometimes so very hard to make them because of the emotion that surrounds the occasion.  This time I made a batch of sympathy cards up to have on hand, just hoping I will not have to send one for a long time.  It all started when I wanted to make a Thank You card for a young gal in our church who sang "ABOVE ALL" for our talent night last week.  Since the chorus of the song talks about a rose I thought I would incorporate the STIPPLED BLOSSOM Stamp Set.  Checking out all the ideas I found on Stampin' Connection I landed on this pretty one by Lisa Young
The rest I made up as Sympathy Cards
I had a little bit of Primrose Petals Ribbon left so it worked out perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by!

Home Again!!

Tuesday, July 22, 2014
It is good to be home!  But what a wonderful time we had in Utah!!  So many new things learned to share with you all.  I just need to get my head wrapped around the normal routine again.  I did want to share with you though, the pillow gifts that I made for my two friends who shared a room with me at convention.  I was so glad to have Donne and Carla come to convention and to share our flight as well because I don't do so well on my own in situations like this.
I saw a package like this on Stampin' Connection but changed it up with the NEW designer papers in the catalog.  Which reminds me to remind you that the Designer Paper special is still going on through the end of this month.  Buy 3 get 1 FREE - that is a $10.95 savings AND for July ONLY I am offering FREE shipping for orders over $35.00 It's a win-win situation.
This is the "pillow gift" that Donne gave each of us...
And this is the "pillow gift" that Carla made for each of us...
And even though Glenda did not share a room with us she still gifted us with these
A handy dandy note pad and pen inside the clear mount case - somehow it just tickled me that she gave us the blue pen to match the designer paper.  I am such a sucker for cool ink pens.
I bet you all would like to see some cards though, right?  These are the cards that are out for you today when you COME STAMP WITH ME!  Come anytime between 10 am and 5 pm for fun stamping, great chit-chat, and hopefully some new ideas.  Remember only $1.50 per card you choose to make.
Once again for the card with the number on it you may make it any number you want or you can leave it blank or you could add a monogram letter.  I made mine say 86 because that is how old my mom will be very shortly so shhhhh.... don't spoil the surprise.  Oh, and yes, I did case these cards from other fabulous demonstrators on Stampin' connection and Pinterest, but the only one I have a name for is Chat W on the Christmas card.

Stampin' Up! Extended a challenge to those of us who attended Convention Create. Inspire. Share. and one of those is that we would sign on one more person than we did last August/September.  Of course I had to take the challenge and my magic number should be easy but I NEED YOU! By the end of September I need to sign on 3 new Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  When you become a demonstrator you have complete access to the Stampin' Connection to gather fabulous ideas like these.  Contact me now for the details

Thanks for stopping by! - See you SOON!

Thankful Thursday

Thursday, June 12, 2014
I am so very thankful for my sweet hubby who is so extremely talented.  If his name was Bob, I could call him Bob the Builder like the children's show that the kids in my day care used to like.  Little Charlie was his happiest when walking around with his play screw driver - so cute! And Dale is the same way - he is the happiest when he has a project, and boy has this been a doosie!
This past week he finished up on the flooring

 AMAZING!!
Then we put Billy to work to pick up the dirt!
Next came the trim work.  He decided that since this is such a large room he wanted to put up the wider trim around the slider
As well as the floor molding

A little chalk to seal it all up and give it a finished look - a trick he learned from the painters that did our upstairs when we moved in
Even the "little" things like getting my clock back up on the wall was HUGE for me
More handy hooks and the photo frame with pictures of my parents and my sisters - very dear to my heart
Before he went to work one morning he did a quick mopping on the floor because although Billy is good at picking up the dirt, with all the work going on down here the floor was still dusty.
I am thankful for my Father-in-law (now gone 9 years already) for instilling in my hubby - his youngest son - to be a help to his wife.  Dad was a great example of a devoted husband who never tired of helping Mom even before he was her care giver for 18 years after her first stroke.
I thought it was appropriate to share a Thank You note today for my Thankful Thursday post.  This is a card we made on Tuesday at my walk-in class.  I left the top right corner empty for the ladies so they could make it whatever they needed so I made mine a Thank You note using the beautiful sentiment from BLOOMING WITH KINDNESS stamp set teamed up with the STIPPLE BLOSSOM flowers

Just one more time

Monday, June 9, 2014
Just one more time to move this monster of a DVD style shelf unit that we bought at a Blockbuster store when it went out of business.  We started with three units and have now scaled down to only one.
half of the stamps are out and back onto a table so the flooring can be competed
This unit holds all the retired stamp sets that I will keep (for now), but when new retirees come along I will have to start purging.  I refuse to have more shelving just to store old stamps (cry*)
I know you are anxious to see this room get finished and so am I, but you will be amazed at how far we are already.  Show up tomorrow for my COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY class and you will be able to see it for yourself!

So I thought I should give you all a heads up on the COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY cards for tomorrow.  These lovely card were inspired by Mary Fish, Debbie Henderson, Connie Babbert, and Elaine Brufatto.  Thank you ladies for sharing your lovely creations.
The baby card is a "two-fer"! Make the regular size card for $1.50 and you get to make the 3x3 matching note card for FREE!
Two of the cards I kept the front blank so you can put whatever sentiment you would like on it.  When you come to my COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY class you have access to ALL my stamps so you can make these cards for whatever occasion you need.  I was inspired to do this because my cousin requested some blank front cards so I guess you can thank her!
Once again here are the details:
When: Every Tuesday
Time: 10am - 5pm
Cost: $1.50 per card
Come when you can, leave when you must.

Now don't forget about my June special - PLACE A $50 ORDER AND YOU GET YOUR NAME ON MY 50/50 BOARD TWICE! (THAT IS DOUBLE WHAT YOU WOULD GET NORMALLY)
WHY? I am trying to earn the Washington DC trip and it goes by points.  I am so close I can taste it but too far away to achieve it on my own.  WON'T YOU HELP ME??
YOUR NAME WILL ALSO GO INTO A SECOND DRAWING FOR THIS PACKAGE OF GOODIES VALUED AT OVER $50.

ALSO THE WEEKLY DEALS THAT END TODAY ARE...
You can shop directly on line at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/christiwaite/ to place your order

Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday, May 11, 2014
I waited to set my post for today until after I had a chance to spend some time with my Mom for Mother's Day.  After morning church my two sisters along with their husbands, Dale and I and our parents met at a yummy Chinese Buffet for Mother's Day lunch.  We were certainly missing our fourth sister and her hubby but when you live a distance away it is hard to be together at all the milestone dates throughout the year.

This is the card that I gave my mom for Mother's Day - it is one that we made at last weeks COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY CLASS and was inspired by a card I saw on Stampin' Connection.  Forgot to document who the original demonstrator was and not sure mine looks just like hers because I was making it from memory.  No problem it's good to change things up a bit.

Happy Mother's Day Mom!! Love you so much!
