Happy Birthday, Sawyer!

Friday, July 3, 2026

Today we are celebrating our Sweet Sawyer's 12th birthday!!

This photo was taken on their final day of this years home schooling program. They love their ice cream!!

Not only are we celebrating his birthday, but we are celebrating the fact that his recent surgery to remove several concerning spots on his face and body came back as NO CANCER!! We are so thankful for God's continued mercies on this young man (& our entire family)

He has to endure so much with his XP condition (Xyroderma Pigmentosum) so when we got these great results we knew we would need to celebrate.

Born on the 4th of July - he is our little firecracker!! Many times I will gear his birthday card around the 4th of July theme. This year one of my team members, Debbie, made such a cute card to share with us, that I asked her to make one for me to give to Sawyer. He loved the spinner part of the card. (the center candle topper spins)

I put together this little goodie for him - he loves to work in the kitchen and now he can make a cake for his family. Debbie had a similar treat tray and I copied her. It's hard to see in this photo, but I found a foil pan has an American flag design.

I also made up some goodie bags for all of the little grands - Each bag contains a Little Debbie, a Ring Pop, and a bottle of bubbles all themed with Red, White & Blue.
The little treats in front contain R-W-B Tootsie Rolls which I had to purchase on Amazon because I couldn't find any R-W-B candies in the stores.

Sawyer chose to go to Applebee's restaurant for his birthday dinner with Bumpa & Yaya.
His choice was Chicken Strips, Mac 'n Cheese & Chocolate Milk.
After dinner out we went to the store to let him pick out his birthday gift. He chose a Hot Wheels City, Mega Loop Garage. He loves to build things with his daddy and he loves to play with cars. He even had a bonus - the set he chose was on sale 1/2 price!!

Today their family came for a burger fry. The hardest part is that we can never sit outside to have a picnic because Sawyer cannot be in the sun. We make do, though. Mommy had a migraine so she stayed home to be quiet and rest, while the rest of the (very noisy) gang came here.
I think all Oliver ate was watermelon and chips
Enjoying their 4th of July bubbles
and in this photo you can see our new patio!!

Today starts the Designer Paper Special with 15% off these select designs

Such a great time to stock up and by using Stampin' Up!'s amazing designer papers it makes card making so easy.  Please follow the links below to place your on line order with me.

The third Fourth of July card that I made for thank yous was inspired by Colleen Magness

One of my favorite cards using the Curvy Dies and some retired Christmas Designer Paper
The Stitched Stars come in so very handy for these patriotic cards! My sentiment is from a non-Stampin' Up! set that I bought several years ago called "Of Thee I Sing". There really isn't any other sentiments that  Stampin' Up! has that would work except "celebrate". I'm not sure how many people actually make 4th of July cards, but I wanted to send out the thank you cards and the timing was perfect to make up some with a patriotic theme.

Fourth of July Thank You's

Wednesday, June 30, 2021

Today is the LAST DAY that you will be able to order from the January to June Mini Catalog - Check out the LAST CHANCE LIST HERE

Also check out the CLEARANCE RACK for some great deals

THEN... starting TOMORROW is the Designer Paper Special with 15% off these select designs

Such a great time to stock up and by using Stampin' Up!'s amazing designer papers it makes card making so easy.

Today and tomorrow I will be sharing the 3 cards that I made for my thank you notes for the ladies who placed an order with me during the month of June.

Thankful to Stampin' Up! for having a surprise One Day Only Free Shipping day last week, I got to make quite a few.

Card # 1 was inspired by Melissa Davies

I made just a couple slight changes depending on the stamp set etc, but I just love what she did.

Stamp Sets: Number of Years,

Dies: Stitched Stars

Embossing Folder: Absolutely Argyle

Colors: Cherry Cobbler, Misty Moonlight, Basic White and Silver Foil

Card #2 was inspired by Connie Babbert

I will always love the Arrange A Wreath Dies (retired) and the Playful Alphabet Dies (current). You can do so many great things with them.
The "celebrate" sentiment is from Many Mates (retired)
Instead of using the Pinewood Planks embossing folder like Connie did, I used one of our new embossing folders called BARK.
Colors: Pacific Point, Real Red, Silver Glimmer, Basic White and Crumb Cake.

Happy 4th of July!

Wednesday, July 4, 2018
Happy 4th of July Everyone!!

Here is a fun card to share with you for the 4th of July!!
I pulled out this punch art card inspired by Vicki Burdick - it's an oldie but goodie from 2010!
I revamped it with Blueberry Bushel for my base and birdies
Punches used: 1 3/8" Circle for the bodies
Photo Corner Punch for the tail feathers and beak (Delightful Dijon) - any yellow will do but I am using up some retired papers
1/4" Circle punch for the eyes - except I used some half beads that I made years ago from pearler beads.
Legs are just narrow strips of black
Large Star punch embossed with the dotted embossing folder and highlighted with whisper white ink that I just dragged across the raised dots.
I sponged the heart, the red stripes and the birdies with Blueberry Bushel
I sponged the 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White with Real Red
The Real Red strips are 3/4" (except for the one on the bottom that I trimmed off.
My USA was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the Little Letters Dies
I hope you enjoy these cute little patriotic birdies!!
Have a wonderful day celebrating the freedoms that we so enjoy!!

Happy Fourth!!

Tuesday, July 4, 2017
Not only is today the Fourth of July, it is our grandson, Sawyers, 3rd birthday.  I won't share his birthday card until later this week when we celebrate with a party.
My sweet friend, Donne, who is also a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, made these cute table favors for our small group at church.

How extremely clever!  She used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and a retired 4th of July stamp set. The ink pens are so cool!  Check out how the ink pen lights up on one end.  The other end where the pen part pokes through can be used as a stylus to use on your ipad.
Hope you are enjoying a fun day celebrating our countries freedom.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy 4th of July!

Monday, July 4, 2016
What an amazing chance to have a whole day set aside to celebrate the freedoms that we have here in the United States!!  Happy 4th of July everyone!!  I am thankful, too, for the many followers of my blog who do not live in the United States and I know that you all have special days set aside to celebrate as well.
I absolutely love this new stamp set BABY BEAR.  I can visualize using him/her in so many ways, so BEAR with me LOL!  His little hat is from SNOW FRIENDS.  This card made it's way all the way up to Swankyz in Manistee.
On the inside I used a previous Paper Pumpkin stamp set - the one that was our bonus set in the April 2016 kit.
Here are the products that I used for today's card:
Thanks for stopping by!
And have a fantastic July 4th!

Happy 4th of July!

Saturday, July 4, 2015
Happy 4th of July everyone!! In the States we proudly celebrate this Independence Day in honor of our Freedom!!  So today I thought I would share with you this beautiful song by the Annie Moses Band

Today is also very special because it is our Sweet Sawyer's very FIRST Birthday!!
I was honored when Jess asked me to design his Birthday Invitations with a Red, White and Blue theme.
The stars were made using the NEW star punch, the small star from the Star Framelits and the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I pulled out an old favorite for the embedded embossing technique called Square Lattice.
One last Card to share: God Bless America!!
Thanks for stopping by
Have a wonderful day celebrating!

Let's Get Patriotic

Thursday, July 2, 2015
With Independence Day coming up this weekend I thought I would share some Patriotic Cards.
I created the Happy 4th of July using My Digital Studio.
This next one I loved because it uses the fabulous new SPRINKLES OF LIFE stamp set.  the HELLO comes from the HELLO YOU THINLITS, and all I did was use a SPONGE DAUBER to color it.
cards inspired by: Wanda, and Estie J (as seen on France Martin's blog)
