I saw this beautiful card on Sandi Mac Iver's blog and wanted to give this new-to-me technique a try, so I copied hers exactly, using SECRET GARDEN and PERFECTLY PENNED stamp sets, Crumb Cake Card Stock and the Print Poetry Designer Paper Pack
When I found it was a fun and easy technique I decided to make another one for a sweet gal who recently became engaged. This time using the LAYERED LABELS stamp set for my sentiment.
Perfect! and yet... Jenna was proposed to at Hilton Head. I wanted something more appropriate for her and David, so I went to work with my BY THE TIDE stamp set. I love the richness of the deep blue but this one suits them better.
Congratulations Jenna and David!
And thanks for stopping by!

Popcorn Anyone?
Thursday, September 20, 2012
As I was shopping in our local craft store I ran into another gal who attends our church. She is also an elementary school teacher and she was out trying to find the perfect item for her popcorn themed board for the kids. When she saw me the 'light went on' and she was wondering why she hadn't asked me for help in the first place. I told her I had an idea in my head for popcorn, but actually I had seen a card by Julia Leece from New Zealand (who was casing the idea from Julie Japes)(see, I'm not the only one!!) using the Cupcake stamp set and punch teamed up with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to make buckets of popcorn. I went home and revamped it to my liking, turned it into a gift card holder and WOW! I really like it! Another great idea for a guy teacher.
Oh, And By The Way...my friend from church loved it too, she said it was perfect!
Don't you just love it when it all works out!!
Actually, our son Joey and our grandson Tyler are HUGE popcorn fans
perhaps I will have to revamp these and personalize them a bit for my
popcorn lovin' guys!
Thanks For Poppin' By!
Have a Blessed Day!!

Punch Art Poodle
Tuesday, August 14, 2012
When Tyler was working on his second Ninja Punch Art project
Gracie found a picture of a punch art Poodle and thought it would
be the perfect project for her. She insisted that it be PINK!!
When I asked her what color bow and collar she wanted she was quick to say
"RAZZLEBERRY!" Funny how they know the names of the Stampin' Up!
cardstock, but then again, they are the ones that chose that color for my new
stamping shelves.
Gracie did a great job don't you think??!!
Now it's Gramma's turn
This Punch Art Poodle was cased from Mary Rindal
who cased it from Jackie Topa!! Isn't it great! I'm not the only
one who copies ideas from another great Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!!

Sketch Challenge Time!!
This is what we had to work with this week...
And this is my take on it...
I must say this card gave me the fits. It simply started because I was looking for a stamp that I could use as an example of how to use your Blender Pen $9.95 102845 so I could show it to the gals in my down line. When I came across this stamp set called
LAYERED LABELS #127070 $33.95 (W) or #127072 $25.95 (C)
I thought it would be great to give it a try. I liked how the Old Olive of the main stamped image turned out using the Blender Pen, and I knew I wanted to pop up the center using different colored inks to give the card dimensions, but if you only knew how many times I stamped this trying to get a color combo that I could work with.
so I went to my Color Coach (imagine me slapping my head and saying "duh")

and it made a much easier combo choice. I chose to use Regal Rose and Soft Suede along with the Old Olive. By adding the Finial Press Embossing Folder (retired) to the card front it really helped, and although you cannot see it in the photo I added Champagne Shimmer Paint #116806 $5.95 with a Sponge Dauber $10.95 102892 to the raised areas.

I was able to not only cut out the stamped image but I could also make the back ground border for it.
I was glad that Marlane and Nancy wanted to join in on the fun again so

When Carla and I spend time together this past week I had her work on a Sketch
Challenge for today. I really love what she came up with and the fact that she
combined the challenge with a need to send an Engagement card to her niece.
Super Card, Carla! I Love It!
