Feels Like Frost Meets Dove of Hope

Sunday, November 29, 2020

It was pretty exciting as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator when they carried over the FEELS LIKE FROST Designer Paper

On this card I combined the Feels Like Frost Designer Paper with the gorgeous Dove from the DOVE OF HOPE BUNDLE and the words from FOR UNTO US Stamp Set

Have you made your Christmas Cards yet? What could be easier?

Card Stock: Night of Navy, Seaside Spray, Whisper White
Ink: Night of Navy
Such a super simple card that packs a WOW factor

Are you waiting for an update on our sweet Liam?
We have good news! Liam came home from the hospital NICU last week Monday at 3 weeks old.
We could NOT wait to meet him
I took my dad to see Liam and we had to get our 4 generation photo taken
One happy Grandma!

What a bunch of family updates to share today!

First and foremost - Baby Liam

Liam is 3 weeks old today. He is weighing in (last I heard) at 4# 10 oz.

And the good news is that yesterday they took out his feeding tube because he is doing so well with his bottle feedings.  He also had his circumcision on Friday.  Looks like if he keeps taking his bottle as well as he is that he will be able to come home sometime this week! What a great Thanksgiving praise!!
I CANNOT WAIT to hold him in my arms!
Another fun item is that we added another little bundle of fur to our family last week

Lucy and Katy aren't quite sure about this new little ball of energy in the house.  Katy will growl at her, but she also accepts her, but Lucy thinks of her as one of pups and feels like this one wants to nurse (she really just wants to play). It's a miracle that I was able to get a picture of these three so close together. It will come in time and they will all be best friends.
Tori is a red Shih Tzu with a black muzzle, and our plans are to continue the breeding process with her when she gets old enough and when Lucy is done. We just LOVE those little pups!! AND we love supplying lovable pups to loving homes at a reasonable price.
This is my hubby, Dale, with our 2 youngest grand daughters, Lily & Mercy
With all this going on at home, I did manage to get some stamping done
This card was inspired by Debbie Henderson and is perfect for anniversary or simply when you just want to tell your spouse that you love them. Valentine's Day is coming soon and this would even be perfect for that.
And a fun card for the kiddos. Who doesn't like Cookie Monster!!?? and those yummy chocolate chip cookies!!
My kids grew up on Sesame Street, but I'm not sure who really enjoyed it more - me or them!!
This card was inspired by JoAnn Hewins
We had so much fun making this card at last Tuesdays class

Loss

Sunday, November 15, 2020

Loss, sadly, is a part of life

This past week we lost the last uncle on my husbands side. He was also the very last of his generation in this large family - living to the ripe old age of 94, until cancer took him.

What a amazing life and legacy! I am proud to be a part of this family

It was very unexpected to receive a sympathy card from one of the gals on my team, but how great to be such a thoughtful person to reach out.

I wanted to make some sympathy cards for the 4 cousins so went with a design by Mary Knabe, changing it up with the sentiment, etc.
Interestingly enough there was a fun story during his celebration of life service that was about a bird house
so I thought this would be perfect using the LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL Stamp Set. The sentiment is from HERE'S A CARD.

Sadly, this same gal who sent us a sympathy card, ended up saying her last good-byes to her sister-in-law, so now it was my turn to sent out a sympathy card to her.
Life can be so hard sometimes, but we grieve not like those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13), we know that we will see them again some day soon.

This is not their end, but the beginning of eternal life with Jesus!!

Praying that all of you who read this will have this same hope in Jesus Christ

Sneak Peek & Baby Liam Update

Sunday, November 8, 2020

I will share my most recent photo of our sweet grandson, Liam

He is one week old today. He is off the CPAP, oxygen and his IV's. What you are seeing is his feeding tube. He needs to keep his food down on a regular basis and gain some weight before they will discharge him. He dropped to 3# 11oz. but he is doing well, sleeping good - especially on his tummy where he doesn't spit up as much.

Here is a fun little treat box that I made for display at his baby shower. It holds one pair of baby socks as the bun the tis in the oven.

At this point in time we had no clue that he would arrive so very early.

This past weekend - Thursday night through Saturday, Stampin' Up! held their yearly ON STAGE event virtually. Of course, if life was normal I would have traveled to to Utah for this event. I was gifted this fun virtual event from my friend and fellow stamper, Janell & her mama, Nell.
We started by watching the opening evening on Thursday with 12 of our team members, and then 4 of us who purchased the event spent Friday and Saturday together watching a variety of break out classes and some amazing stamping - showing off some of the new stamp sets.
Oh - I just cannot wait until I can pre-order from the January - June 2021 Mini Catalog on December 1 and then start making up cards and projects for classes coming in January.
One of the stamp sets that we were given is called DRAGONFLY GARDEN and that is the set that we had for our "make & takes" (they were called something different but I cannot remember what they called it).
We were also gifted the DANDY GARDEN 6x6 Designer Paper along with some ribbon and some ladybug elements.
The talented Kylie Bertucci, a demonstrator from Australia, made this cute card using both Dragonfly Garden Stamp set and Dandy Garden DSP
I loved it so much I had to case it, and I plan to use it for an upcoming class once the products are available to purchase.
Another stamp set that we were given (if we purchased the swag bag) was the stamp set called ENJOY THE MOMENT.
I decided to try this same card using the Enjoy the Moment Stamp Set and make my own Designer Paper
The sentiment I used is from BEST YEAR. Everything is heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

I am looking forward to using both of these new sets on future cards. I hope you liked them as well.

What's been going on with me?

Wednesday, November 4, 2020

It's been a while since I have posted

Sorry to those who were checking on me and missed it.

#1. I wasn't sure how many people were actually checking out my blog as I never get any comments.

#2. It was starting to stress me out to have to come up with something to share with you and get it posted each day.

#3. I'm focusing on my team right now with their weekly challenges, our monthly meeting, my weekly and monthly classes, and that keeps me busy along with trying to keep the 4 stores stocked who sell my cards.

#4. Our daughter-in-law has been in the hospital for 4 weeks awaiting the birth of our newest grandson.

Thankfully tiny little Liam was born Monday morning (11-2-20) Six weeks early weighing only 4# 1 oz. and 17" long.  Not bad for 6 weeks early. He was on a CPAP machine at the beginning, but now he is on Oxygen and a feeding tube. He is struggling to keep down his nutrition - so prayers are appreciated.

He doesn't look so teeny until you see our son, Joey, holding him

While Melissa was in the hospital we are taking care of their 2 dogs, Leo and Bailey. They are excellent dogs, very well behaved, and we are happy to do it for them.
Bailey wants to be at my side ALL the time - I even put up a folding chair next to my workstation so he can sit by me.

Leo wants to be a lap-dog, but he is very solid - about 20 pounds.
I was able to enjoy a short 3 day time with my sisters - which is always something that encourages my heart.
With the whole Covid thing going on, with the election looming, our minds just are fried to say the least.
To top this all off (and before any of this happened with Melissa, Baby Liam, and the dogs) we had put money down on another puppy for our family.
We named her Santorini, because of our amazing trip to Greece in 2018. We will shorten it to Tori and we pick her up on November 20th. Talk about a busy home! - she is a full Shih Tzu but I don't think we will bother to register her as AKC although both her parents are AKC. So her full name is Princess Santorini of Greece.

Praying that all of you are staying safe and healthy during this most unusual time in history.

I will do my best to check in on my blog on a weekly basis since I have heard from a few of you that you are missing it.

I do have a new Hostess Code for November and I appreciate all the on line orders that have been coming in
