I Just Couldn't Resist.

I just couldn't resist!!

When I was in Texas last March for a Stampin' Up! event, we were gifted a pack of grid paper that was Paper Pumpkin related, but it had these cute puppies printed on it.

As the grid paper got used I would cut out the puppies and they have been sitting on my work station all this time. I finally decided to start using them and thought that the little gift packages could either be for birthdays or for Christmas - I chose Christmas

The designer paper is from TAKE A BOW and I pulled out my PICTURE THIS Die, and embossed it with the Snowflake embossing folder. - I chose 3 puppies for two different reasons: 1. We have three of the cutest pups around, and 2. since there are three "windows" it seemed appropriate to have 3 puppies.

Left to right...Tori, Katy and Lucy. This is an old photo but it's hard to get them to all sit together so I had to grab an old photo.

How about adding a Santa Hat to one of the puppies?

Maybe a grad cap - so cute using BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL DSP and the FOREVER PLAID Embossing Folder.

One more Christmas card - this time using the second die from the PICTURE THIS set

How fun is this!! Of course anything with a puppy is the Best!!

Taco Fiesta

Today's feature stamp set is called TACO FIESTA

What a fun set that was designed by one of the million dollar achievers, Erica Cerwin

My friend, Anna, stayed with our three dogs when we vacationed in Florida and she made some taco cards for me.

Anna said that this Taco Tuesday card was her favorite. I think that they are all super cute!

Anna also used the TACO FIESTA stamp set for her SWAP card at our February team meeting.

This stamp set does not come with dies or a punch so she did a great job cutting all her pieces out by hand. 

This last card was inspired by Sherry Roth and uses a Medium Basic White Envelope

Make Mine Music

Earlier I showed two of these music related cards but I thought now I would give you a close up look and give you the MENU how to make it for yourself.

Cards #1 and #2 both were ideas I snagged from Marlene Peter (thanks Marlene!) from the Stampin’ Connection. Card #3 also came from the Stampin’ Connection and it was an idea from Julie Freysinger (thanks Julie!) Don’t you just love the ribbon roses on this card. In the inside I put the number ‘50’ using a numbers die and my Big Shot.

Talent Night

Each summer our church holds 6 Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinners. A few of them are set aside for something specific. For example one night they have a fun water carnival which is a big hit with the kids (and the kids at heart). The final evening is set aside for worship through music. Kind of like your old fashioned hymn sing, but the kids love to be able to choose which songs we sing. This past Wednesday was our TALENT NIGHT of which I am the coordinator. This has quickly grown into one of the favorite nights in the summer. This year we had 15 different and unique talents that were shared. When it is all done I send out a thank you to all who participated and include a photo that I took during their talent. So here is a look at the participants and the card they will receive. (Can’t have a posting without a card – right?)

Our piano players… Erin and Ila both received this card…

Jake and Susie and Jacob and the sisters

(Julia, Janey, Abby and Alex)all received this card…My friend Laura received this card… I don’t think the guys would have appreciated the ribbon rose (tehe).

Our two guitaristJake and Emily received this card…

Our amazing fiddler, Grace, received this card…This card-
I sent to several people… 1. An unusual talent was Jake who also doubled as Co-MC solved Rubix Cubes puzzles 4 of them in 5 min. 2. Mrs. Dodge displayed her oil paintings that she painted at 90 years old…You are never too old to try something new or at least stay active with something you love. (like making cards te-he) 3. The girls (Destinee, Angie, and Kelsey) that did an inspirational and fun skit from Ecclesiaties – a book of the Bible that our pastor had recently finished going through.

Our dancers Amara and Jenna and Andrea all received this card because they remind me of beautiful butterflies when they dance. You just saw this card last week on my techniques posting. I love it when I have the opportunity to use these cards.

A fun fun skit by Ben, Curtis, Cherie and Karie was a blast! They even used my bubble blowing machine for the great bath time effect. They all got this card…
Our son, Jeff had been memorizing the book of Ephesians for about a year now so he recited that to us. I was so amazed, and not sure why because he has always been good with memory, but how pleased we are that he chooses to memorize God’s word is a true blessing. Even though EVERY act was GREAT, he was the only one that night to get a standing ovation. What that says to me is that our church body truly loves the word of God, and so I believe it was not Jeff they gave the ovation to, but to our Heavenly Father who gave us His Word. I gave Jeff this card… Simple and Elegant a great guy thank you Chris (our youth director) was our main MC for the evening and I am so thankful for how he pulls it all together because if it had to be me up there we wouldn’t have a talent night – I am strictly a behind the scenes girl. Perhaps you saw my Build a Bear card way back when. I wasn’t sure who would be the lucky one to get it, but when I added a microphone to his hand it made it perfect to give to Chris. I’m sorry this was such a long post, but the evening was so much fun I wanted to share it with you.
