Special Orders

Friday, February 22, 2019
Sometimes it can be a challenge when you are asked for a special order card, but recently I was asked to make two of them for some ladies at church.
This first card was for a 90th birthday celebration. they said he loved music and feeding the birds. SHEET MUSIC Background Stamp to the rescue along with PETAL PALETTE for the bird and leaves. I added the 90 in the inside using a retired stamp bundle NUMBER OF YEARS.
The second request was for a Mother's Day card for her sister, asking that I incorporate a cardinal onto the card in memory of their mother who passed away last year. I had to use a couple retired items on this card (ALL HOLIDAY'S stamp set and the BIRD BUILDER PUNCH). Cardinals really make me think Christmas so it was more of a challenge for me.
I'm happy that they were happy!

Easter Dinner Treats

Monday, April 17, 2017
I trust you all had a wonderful Easter Celebration yesterday!
Today I wanted to share with you the treat that I made for our family to have at each place setting that was inspired by Brenda Quintana

I think that I keep the Hershey Candy Company in business with all the Hershey Nuggets I use for treats!!
I used a retired stamp set called ALL HOLIDAYS for my Easter Wishes.
Here are the Easter Baskets that I made for Tyler and Gracie:
This was Sawyers Easter "Basket": He loved pushing the truck around.
And then, silly daddy thought Lily needed a ride
We also had a little Easter Egg Hunt for Sawyer.  The little eggs were filled with coins because he likes to put coins in his piggy bank and Mommy & Daddy don't want him to have all the candy
Lily didn't have a basket - she is just too little to understand, but Gramma couldn't resist buying her a soft cuddly bunny and a darling outfit for when the weather warms up.
After planning all the gifts for the kids, I never expected to get an Easter treat for Dale and I...
Joey and Melissa came bearing gifts.
This basket was jam packed with all sorts of treats.  Even a couple gift cards!!
Sawyer was having so much fun checking out what was inside...
He loved the easter eggs because when he shook them they made noise.  I would say "What's inside?" and then open it up to find Hershey Kisses, so I gave Sawyer fun kisses.  By the time we did this a few times he started giving me the kisses and ginormous hug.  What fun!!
Joey and Melissa also made a super yummy cheesecake for out dessert, and some punch.
Melissa's love language is giving of gifts and it was almost like Christmas at our house because they were handing out gifts to everyone!
Jeff and Jess, With Sawyer and Lily.
Both of our granddaughters were so pretty wearing their yellow dresses
We are so extremely blessed! Thank you, Jesus, for my wonderful family!!

I thought this card turned out very pretty.  Thank you Diana Gibbs for your inspiration.  I just switched it up to be a Mother's Day card using a retired stamp set called ALL HOLIDAYS

The Designer Paper was part of the FREE paper pack that we could get FREE during Sale a bration.  Here is what I used to make this card...

Time for another Red Hot Stamper Sketch Challenge
This is the final results...
Want to see how it all came about??
This is the sketch we had to work with...

When Rachel came for our weekly play day I asked her how to do a few things on My Digital Studio because she is a real pro at it.
I learned how to fill an area with designer paper
so I could make blocking like on the sketch challenge.
This is what I came up with...
Kind of plain, I wanted to color the little girl in, and I was too lazy to do it on MDS, so I printed this out, added a card base of Riding Hood Red, then colored in my little girl from GREETING CARD KIDS and added a Riding Hood Red Taffeta bow.  The white parts of her coat I envision them to be furry so I added Dazzling Details Glitter Glue so now she sparkles too.
Here is the finished card again...
Click HERE to see what the other Red Hot Stampers came up with for this sketch.

Thanks For Stopping By!

Have a Blessed Day!!

Happy 1st Anniversary!!

Saturday, October 8, 2011

I can’t believe it has been one year already (tomorrow) since Jeff and Jess were married.

Since Jeff and Jess are both musically inclined, the theme at their wedding was

“Life is a Song, Love is the Music”

so I thought this was an appropriate card to send them on their first anniversary.

Crayon Resist Tecnique

Thursday, February 24, 2011
Click HERE to see the great blog candy offer that ends March 6th!

This particular technique was one I learned years ago, then was re-introduced to it in one of Glenda's classes last year. I've been wanting to teach it at a technique's class so was glad when I saw this idea on the Stampin' Connection using one of the new stamp sets from the Occasions Mini called Easter Blossoms. This, too, fit right into the Emboss Resist theme for this months techniques class

XOXO

Friday, February 11, 2011
These cards were inspired by Carey Payette who first designed it on her My Digital Studio (MDS) program. Once she got it how she wanted it she was able to create it by hand. These cards made their way to a few of the college girls that I encourage monthly. The question is...will they tear the card apart to get to the candy? There is a serrated X behind the Treat Cup so they can get the candy out with ease.

If you are one of those computer kind of people you might be interested in the My Digital Studio program you can buy from Stampin' Up! (#118108 $79.95) They also have regular downloads available keeping you right up to date on the new stamps, paper and accessories that Stampin' Up! offers for a VERY reasonable price.

Click HERE if you want to place a purchase at my on line site.

Another Valentine I absolutely LOVE was inspired by the Stampin' Connection. Can't remember the exact demonstrator who first came up with this idea, but isn't it cute! I thought it made a great card to send to someone who lived a distance from me - kind of like a "from my home to yours" type of card.

MENU:
SS: All Holidays
CS: Naturals Ivory, Pear Pizzazz, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Brushed Gold
INK: Soft Suede, Real Red
Accessories: Real Red 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, 1" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Petals A Plenty EF, Big Shot, Textures Plate: Wood grain, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Fall Friend

Wednesday, November 10, 2010
This is a card I made at one of Glenda's Stamp A Stacks. Isn't it pretty?! We first stamped the leaves over the card front using the French Foliage Stamp Set, then ran it through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I love the look it gave. We have done this technique on other cards, but each time it looks unique depending on what ink colors and stamps you use.

So For Now...

Happy Stamping!!

Teacher and Bus Driver Thank you's

Friday, November 5, 2010
You never need a special reason to say thank you to anyone, but how very important to say 'Thank you' to your child's teacher and bus driver for all they do, day in and day out, for all the kids.

Once again I borrowed some stamp sets from my friends to make these fun cards. Thanks Sue and Rachel!!

MENU:
SS: First Day, All Holidays, Every Little Bit

INK: Basic Black, So Saffron, Real Red

I saw the bus card idea on the Stampin' Connection and then made one using the A+ for the teacher. I LOVE our Stampin' Connection - thank you to: Becky Roberts.

So For Now...

Holland Rescue Mission

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

My Bible Study Coordinator, Helen, asked if I would make up some card kits for the ladies at the Holland Rescue Mission where she and her two daughters minister at. I had given her a Christmas card last year using the stamp set SEASON OF SIMPLE GRACE and she wanted me to use that set for this project as it so wonderfully tells the whole Christmas story.      DSCF2310All the pieces (16 per card) are cut and ready to assemble into packages.

DSCF2300DSCF2302

The finished card… May your season be touched with the simple grace of Christ’s love.

Happy Stamping - Christi
