Ship in a Bottle

Continuing with my fussy-cut pieces

This card uses the Clipper Ship and Anchor from the much loved (but retired) THE OPEN SEA

I cut 2 jars out from the JAR OF LOVE Stamp Set and Dies.  One in Whisper White and one is stamped onto a WINDOW SHEET with BASIC BLACK ARCHIVAL INK. I sponged some MARINA MIST INK onto the Whisper White jar, then added the ship, then using 4 MINI GLUE DOTS I put the WINDOW SHEET Jar over top.  The Background is stamped with Crumb Cake and the world stamp is Marina Mist.  The little anchor is popped up using the MINI STAMPIN' DIMENSIONALS.

This card was inspired by    and what I changed up was the shape and style of the card, making it more basic.

Father's Day Cards

I love it when the store says "WE NEED MORE CARDS!!"  This time they really needed some more Father's Day cards.

'Tis The Season

Christmas?? no!!! 'Tis the Season for Graduations.
Keeping up with the Red Hot Stamper 6x6 Challenge I made these cards and money holders (money holder inspired by Julie Brancart) I used the same color scheme as Julie because I loved it so much, using the GOING PLACES DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STACK (6x6)

I started by measuring this purchased money holder from way back when

 Cut my card stock (Sahara Sand) at 8x8-3/8.  With the 8-3/8 at the top of your score plate, score 2-3/4 and 5-5/8.  turn your card stock 90º and score 3/4" from each side.

 I rounded the corners using my ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD, but you could also use the PROJECT LIFE CORNER ROUNDER

The measurements for your other pieces are as follows:

Basic Black 2-1/2 x 6-1/4 (you need 2 of these)

Designer Paper 2-1/4 x 6 (you need 2 of these)

The 2 designs are from 2 different sheets of 6x6 and after cutting the pieces I needed I ended up being able to make 2 Money Holders and 2 regular 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 cards using the strip that was left over.  I cut it down to 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 So all I threw away was a teeny tiny smidge of those papers.

Not only so I have my fair share of Graduation Open Houses to go to, I get requests from my sister for all the Open Houses that she will be going to.
I used the (retired) stamp set WORD PLAY and the small directional stamp is from THE OPEN SEA which you can still purchase through May 31st - but then it will be gone FOREVER.  The front of the Money Holder stamp is from BYOP (which stand for Buy Your Own Present!)

From Land to Sea

Two more samples that were out for display at the Open House using the NEW stamp set FROM LAND TO SEA.  This first one was designed straight from the new Catalog.  The "sea" was stamped using the WORK OF ART stamp set. I just love this cute sea turtle, don't you?!  This card will be out for the ladies to make at my July Stamp a Stack Classes.  You will see all the information on these classes when you scroll to the bottom of my blog post.

This second card was CASED from my good buddy, Rachel. She combined the FROM LAND TO SEA stamp set with THE OPEN SEA Stamp Set.  Yup - there is a good deal of fussy cutting but I love how it turned out.

Do you see a new punch on this card? It is called Washi Tape Punch.  It will be a great addition to all the other fantastic punches from Stampin' Up!

Pop Up Card

The last card in this weeks weekly feature of the BABY BUMBLEBEE stamp comes with a WOW factor.  When the recipient takes the card out of the envelope this is what they will see...
Not a big WOW yet, is it?

But look! It pops up with all these cute little flying baby bumblebees!  Gracie thought this was the coolest card I've made!  And can I say SOLD?!! yup one of my stamping friends saw it and purchased it from me! SWEET!!

 I followed this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers, but I copied Vicki Allanson on using the Baby Bumblebee stamp.

We made this same pop up card in a Projects class last June using The Open Sea stamp set.  Want to join us for a Projects Class?  April's Project Class will be Tuesday, April 28 at 7pm.  Cost: $12 for 3 projects.  (Projects vary month to month so if you have something you have been dying to make/try please let me know)

COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY

It's Tuesday and time to COME STAMP WITH ME!!

These are the cards that will be out for you to make... Mother's Day is creeping up on us SOON - like this coming Sunday so I have a card designated for Mother - but if you do not need a Mother's Day card, you know I have a ton of stamps and you can choose whichever sentiment works best for your card sending needs.  Although the card with the ship says HAPPY BIRTHDAY, it too, can have the words changed up in case you might want a Father's Day card for example.

BONUS!!  for everyone who comes to make at least one card you get to make one of these cute 3x3 cards (one per customer please). These are great little cards to put with a gift or if you like to send lunch box notes to your kids.

Anchor's Away!

Whenever I see this anchor from the stamp set THE OPEN SEA #128454  $28.95  I think of my daddy who served in the Navy during WW11.  (Inspired by Penny Smiley)

This would be a great card to send for Veterans Day!

A little 'bling' using the Champagne Glimmer Paper  #127885 $4.95 is just the right touch.

BOXES!!

Last night we had a box making class!! What fun!!  These are the boxes that we made...

This first one might be considered more of a bag, but it is perfect for giving a little treat to a friend.

I made a Rosette using the Rosette Bigz Die to show the ladies how you can change it up.
This tutorial was found on Silvey's blog

This second box is a Flip Top Box, and came straight from Splitcoast Stampers.

 It's a little more labor intensive, but I have everything cut and scored for the ladies, and they all go home with an instruction sheet so they can make more on their own.  Very cool it looks like the shape of a crayon box, but I put some chocolates in there!!

Box #3 is one I have used many times over.  I wanted to have one of the boxes be a masculine theme so I pulled out my THE OPEN SEA stamp set.  Yeah! this one is NOT retiring - it is a perfect guy stamp.
