Put a Smile on it!!

Friday, November 6, 2015
This is the 3x3 card that Gracie will find in her lunch box today!  The ACORNY THANK YOU stamp set is even cuter when you add a smile to it.
I used the PETITE PAIRS stamp set for the greeting and the inside coordinating stamp says "...Begin with you").  The face was hand drawn.
Thanks for stopping by

Stained Glass Technique

Wednesday, December 8, 2010
Secret Santa Strikes again! I was so surprised to receive another sweet and thoughtful gift from my Secret Santa in the mail today - so close to our reveal night. I can hardly wait!! I need to know who this thoughtful person is

Time again for our techniques class. This month we did a Stained Glass Technique. I really love the beautiful Cardinal stamp from "A Cardinal Christmas" stamp set. This cardinal makes me think of the poor cardinal that was trying to get into our house recently via a closed slider. Needless to say he didn't make it. I feel so bad because they are such a beautiful bird. I'm glad I wasn't around when he crashed into my slider, it is just so sad.

MENU:
SS: Cardinal Christmas
CS: Chocolate Chip, Jolly Holiday DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Vellum
INK: Craft Black or Versa Mark, Cherry Cobbler, Markers in Real Red (I liked it better than using Cherry Cobbler), Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: large oval punch, scallop oval punch, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Mini Library Clips, Top Note Die, Big Shot, EP: Clear or Black depending on which ink is your preference to use, dimensionals
Thanks To: the great tutorials on Splitcoast Stampers Web page

Bird Punch Poinsettia

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

I saw how this poinsettia was made using the XL Two Step Bird Punch on the Stampin’ Connection by Debra Brown so wanted to give it a try. It was quick and easy, but now I had to come up with a use for it, right? I immediately think of a card…

bird poinsettia 1 bird poinsettia 2 If you could only see this up close you could appreciate all the Champagne Shimmer Paint I added to the flower and to the Whisper White Card Stock. It really shines!!

THEN I started thinking CRAFT SALES and how I could incorporate the beautiful bird punch poinsettia.

DSCF0004DSCF0006DSCF0005DSCF0007 The top one is made from a recycled Starbucks Iced Coffee jar and the second one is made from a recycled Mandarin Orange can with a “pop top.” When I open the can I use a can opener that cuts from the outside leaving no sharp edges, therefore I can clean it, fill it from the bottom, and reseal it with Crystal Effects. Then the recipient can “pop” the original top to get to his/her treat. I’m sure I will play around with this idea a bit more and see what other ideas or embellishments I can make to them.

MENU:
CARD:
SS: A Cardinal Christmas
CS: Riding Hood Red, Garden Green, WW
INK: Stazon Jet Black
Accessories: Non SU corner punch

Poinsettia:
XL Two Step Bird Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch
CS: Riding Hood Red, Garden Green on some, Old Olive on one

Can:
CS: retired Christmas DSP
SS: Christmas Punch
Accessories: Retired Ribbon, Movers and Shapers Die, Big Shot

So For Now…

Happy Stamping!!

Christmas in August?

Sunday, August 29, 2010

NO, I am NOT ready for Christmas nor am I ready for snowy weather, BUT – if I wait until December to make all my cards I will go crazy. If I start slow and make a few at a time when the mood hits, I am ready for sending them out the first part of December. I loved the colors and variety on these card with the Crumb Cake and Marina Mist. A little Dazzling Diamonds to make them sparkle really sets them off.

158 aThe Stamp Set used here is called Serene Snowflake and the “Merry Christmas” is from A Cardinal Christmas.

This one uses the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

Happy Stamping!!

Christmas Greetings

A Cardinal Christmas (Sentiment)
Christmas Cocoa DSP (Holiday Mini) What makes this Designer paper so cool is that it is flocked. I love that raised effect.
