Bear Hugs

On yesterday's post I showed you a lucy leftover Button Bear, but I never showed you the card that I made which made me have a leftover teddy sitting around.
This is a card that I have made in the past using different Designer Paper, but I love it so much I wanted to have more on hand.

Isn't he just so cute! My sister used this card to send to her friend recently who was dying of cancer and it was just the perfect card and ministered to her heart in her last days.

Sorry - I should be showing you cards using the fantastic new stamp sets that are in the main catalog, but I have been so swamped I had to use the cards I had on hand because I want to at least make sure I have something to post each day - AND - perhaps you still have your Button Bear stamp set and just needed a fresh new idea how to use it.

The greeting was made using My Digital Studio, but I'm sure any Word program could work as long as you can make text boxes.  That is how I made the "It's a" on an angle by giving those words their own text box and rotating it.  Want to try out My Digital Studio??  Did you know that you can try it out for FREE for 30 days?  It's a pretty bare-bones program for the FREE TRIAL, but it would at least get your feet wet to see if you want to try the full program at only $39.95.  This Booster Pack version pack a wholloping $500 in downloads.  Here is what you need to know...

Red Hot Sketch Challenge #135

The Red Hot Stamper Sketch Challenge #135 really came in handy for me when my daughter asked me for a birthday card for a one year old little girl.  This is the sketch we had to work with...

And for the card I made, I dug into my lucky leftover bin because I knew that I had one more little teddy bear waiting to be used up on a card.

This cute teddy is from a many-years-ago-retired stamp set called Button Bear.  I sold my set years ago and have kicked myself ever since.  So thankful that my friend, Nancy, doesn't discard her retired stamps and she has let me borrow him on a few different occasions.  The card base is BLUSHING BRIDE Card Stock, and embossed with the ALPHABET PRESS embossing folder on page 227 of the main catalog. I made a little #1 for him to hold using the Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Sizzlits (retired).  I thought he turned out pretty sweet.

Button Bear

Talk about an "oldie but a goodie" stamp set!!

I used to have this stamp set, but sold it and have since regretted it.

He is such a sweet bear!!

Thankfully one of the gals who regularly attends my classes still had

her set and was more than willing to let me borrow it.

My original intention was to make this Sympathy Card

based on a card I saw on Split Coast Stampers by Kelston.

I found a need (sadly) to have something like this on hand for

the loss of a child, and on some of the insides I have it intended

as a sympathy to send to a child when a grandparent or someone close 

passes away.  I had some button brads on hand and thought they fit 

perfectly with the Button Bear Stamp Set.

As I was organizing my files I ran across this idea from Cindy on Split Coast

so I went to work on MDS to create the words for the front of the card.

I used some retired Designer Paper called Pawsitively Prints l and ll

INSIDE:

 Since Nancy was so kind to let me borrow her stamp set it was

 only appropriate that I make her a 3x3 Thank You Note...

 He turned out so cute that I made some more to have on hand...

OK, so I get a little carried away, but I had a LOT of that Designer Paper left over.

And it was perfect for all the cute envelopes.  

I'm sure they will end up in a cute gift box at some point for the craft sales

My Pen Pal gave me picture for the wall that said something

about the value of an old friend (which we are to one another)

Perhaps this applies to old stamps too!!

Robot Love

This is the Valentine Card I made for our Grandson, Tyler. I thought Tyler would especially like it because the body of the Robot is made using a Hershey Mini candy bar
