Pretty Pointsettia

Two more cards from the Christmas Card Class using the PRETTY POINSETTIA Dies.

I pulled out the retired Music Notes embossing Folder and some more of the trio of Pearls for the center of the flower.

What's different about this card is that I cut every other layer of the flower from Vellum Card Stock.

Knowing that my stampers prefer a faith based Christmas Card I have decided to use some retired sentiments

I used the Poinsettia stamp on the front of the envelope with a Daffodil Delight center.

This card is a simple layout and I used another design from the Delicate Pines suite of products, and layered it on some Old Olive.

This time I cut the Poinsettia Petals from the IRRESISTIBLE DESIGNS  Specialty Paper. It's thick and has a shimmery design to it (three different designs in the pack). I thought that it gave the flower a beautiful shimmery look. The sprigs of gold are from 

And I love adding a 3/4" strip of DSP on the flap of my envelopes using up those scraps

The 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White was embossed with a snowflake design embossing folder. inspired by Tracy

Pretty Poinsettias

Do you want to see more of the Christmas cards that we made at our Christmas Card Class?

I wasn't sure if I would share cards that I was using retired designer paper on, but then I realized that perhaps you may have some of this paper on hand or you could just use the layout and make it your own.

I loved the Black, White & Gold of this card. inspired by Gail Ellis

The sentiment on the front of the card is from one of the Ephemera Packs. The designer paper and the Basic Black backing were cut (not die cut) then used a corner rounder. This was much quicker than cutting them out using a die.

When I am making white poinsettias I like to use the Thick White Card Stock. Once again I used BEAUTIFULLY CELEBRATED for the little sprig of gold.

I had some designer paper left over from last year from the Delicate Pines suite of products. I chose two different prints, then added a center piece of Real Red and embossed it with the SWIRLS OF MAGIC Embossing Folder. Inspired by Lisa

The circle die is the second largest circle from SPOTLIGHT ON NATURE, and the leaves are cut from Shaded Spruce. What's great about this leaf die is that you can cut the leaves apart and place them where you want them. In this case I cut each leaf off from the stem and tucked them where I wanted. the center of the flower is Daffodil Delight.

Christmas Card Class #1

Today is Christmas Card Class #1

I am so thankful for all the stampers who enjoy coming to this class each year.

I decided to have 8 cards all featuring the PRETTY POINSETTIAS BUNDLE

This is one of the cards that is out for the ladies to make

It was inspired by Mary Deatherage. Such a lovely card, and I love the non traditional colors. 

What I changed up: Making 8 Christmas cards for this class and doing my best not to use any duplicate stamps, I dug into some retired sets for the greeting (and for the inside)

I love how sparkly this card is by using the SHIMMERING STRIPES 12 x 12 paper. It also shimmers because the poinsettia petals and the leaf are cut from the 2026-2028 In Color Shimmer Paper in Barely Blush & Peaceful Pine. Even the centers are cut from the shimmer paper in Golden Glow.

Just a couple Adhesive Backed Blooms Embellishments add just the right added touch.

The centers of the poinsettia petals are sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe ink.

A second card that we are making...

Once again I pulled out a retired stamp set for the sentiment, but the rest is from POINSETTIA PETALS. The little sprigs are from BEAUTIFULLY CELEBRATED, and I pulled out some retired Pearl trios for the center of the flower. 

Measurements: Base - Thick White 8" x 11" scored at 5-1/2"

Gold Foil: 4" x 5-1/4" and 3-1/4" x 3-1/4"

Basic White: 3-3/4" x 5" and 3" x 3" which I embossed with a Dotted Swiss embossing folder.

I actually saw a similar card on Etsy, but I changed it up by using the Pretty Poinsettia dies and gold leaves. I thought it gave it an elegant look using all gold.

Glow of Harvest

Today's card features the gorgeous GLOW OF HARVEST Designer Paper that you can still get for only $5 with a minimum $75 order.

I chose the color scheme to be Petal Pink instead of the Barely Blush that I saw a sample in by Peggy Noe. I also changed up the sentiment to be a sympathy card instead of the "hello friend" that she had on her card.

The stamp set/die cuts are from RADIANT SUNFLOWERS & BOUTIQUE BLOSSOMS (for the leaf)

I used a sympathy stamp from a Paper Pumpkin kit

Make & Take Project for my Team Retreat

 My final post from our team retreat.

After we spent the day making up the shoebox swaps, we paused for a pizza dinner and a fun game of BUNCO! This is always so much fun!! We play 6 rounds, then have a make & take project before doing the second round of 6.

This is the make & take project that we made

A beautiful wedding card using LIFETIME OF LOVE and FOREVER FLORALS. 

 

Make & Take Instructions:

Base: Fresh Freesia: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”

Score at 4-1/4”

Inside piece: Fresh Freesia: 8” x 5”

Score at 2”, 4” 6” on the long side

Die cut the large intricate die from the center 

Designer Paper: FLORALS IN BLOOM

     2 for the inside @ 2-1/4” x 5-1/4”

     3 for the front @ 1-1/4” x 4”

Using the FOREVER FLORALS DIES:

Die cut 1 of the larger labels die with Granny Apple Green

Die cut 5 of the smaller die with Basic White

Also from FOREVER FLORALS DIES:

Die cut a floral group from Fresh Freesia Card stock 

Die cut one leaf from Granny Apple Green

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Starting with the intricate piece, poke out all of the little pieces
2. Fold this piece into a W shape, use your bone folder to get the crease real good
3. On the back side add a small strip of Tear ’n Tape across the center fold, both top and bottom - peel off the backing
4. Attach a double layer of LINEN THREAD to the Tear ’n Tape, then add another layer of Tear ’n Tape over top to secure it. DO NOT PEEL OFF THE BACKING!
5. Stamp the “congratulations” onto one of the white labels
6. Sandwich that label with a blank white label over the Tear ’n Tape
7. Now you can add this inside piece to the inside of your card base by folding it into the W shape and laying it inside. You don't want the sentiment piece to hang over the right side of your card when shut. It is approximately 1" from each side.
8. On another white label stamp the floral with Fresh Freesia and the inside of the flowers with Peach Pie
9. On another white label stamp the “forever & always” using Granny Apple Green Ink.
10. Adhere all of your Designer Paper pieces - 2 on the inside, 3 on the front.
11. Add the white labels as shown
12. Stack the “forever & always” onto the Granny Apple Green label and pop this up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the front of your card
13. With tiny dabs of liquid glue add the leaf and the flowers to the front, then add 3 Rhinestone Basic Jewels 

I encouraged my team with a challenge to make a card using this layout, and I wanted to show them that they did NOT need the FOREVER FLORAL die (it is still current), but that they could cut a square, rectangle or circle.

This is the card that I made to show how to do that. 

Please pardon that I used some non- Stampin' Up! products, but a friend gifted me with some Winnie the Pooh papers and I wanted to use them.

I used a leaf die from one of our Paper Pumpkin add-on die sets for the three leaves on the front, and a Linen Thread bow.
