Wilderness Awaits

Monday, April 3, 2017
Prior to my surgery I preplanned many cards to put together using the retired designer papers that I had on hand.  I guess you could call me a paper hoarder because I sure had a LOT of paper to work with.
I was happy to have some masculine cards to put together while I was recovering, and this one couldn't have been easier.  We have several hunters in our family so this will come in perfectly handy for them.
STAMP SET: Wilderness Awaits

Don't have this Designer Paper or this stamp set?  Well, this is your chance to use this as a layout example.  Switch up the paper and the stamp, even the ribbon and you will have a whole new card! I would love to see what you make with this layout.

Wallet Gift Card Holder

Tuesday, March 7, 2017
This gift card holder is NOT a quick and easy one like you saw yesterday, but oh, how cool is this!!
I totally CASED this from France Martin only changing up the stamp set used on the front plus I made a box with an acetate cover, just like when you purchase a wallet in the store.
This wallet style gift card holder is MORE than just a gift card holder - it has the pocket if you want to add cash, and 4 pockets for gift cards or notes.  I put a blank sheet in to add a note. and I also added a piece that is for congratulating the graduate OR if you want it for a birthday gift I added that as well.
Each wallet has a small circle velcro closure
Here are the different steps and pieces.  A LOT of sponging so make sure you have a refill on hand!
 Here are the finished products...
I used images from WETLANDS, WILDERNESS AWAITS, AND IN WILDERNESS
I created the box on my own so I will share the dimensions with you:
BOX: 5 x 4 1/4
SCORE 1/2" on all 4 sides
Finished size is 4 x 3 1/4
Acetate cover is 1/16" less than the box size, and scored at 1/2" all 4 sides
If you prefer to have your acetate cover to go on the outside then you will cut it 1/16" LARGER than the box size.
Basic box assembly

Telescoping Technique

Monday, June 13, 2016
Another shipment of cards are heading up to the store in Manistee.  Thank you to my fellow Red Hot Stamper, Sara H, who shared this card.
This technique is called a TELESCOPING CARD and I was thrilled to see that Stampin' Up! has come out with narrow Foam Adhesive Strips and they work perfectly for this technique.
One thing I learned while putting these cards together - the Foam Adhesive Strips are thicker than our standard Dimensionals, but they are perfect for the narrow edges that you need from time to time.
Here are the supplies used for this card: You will notice that I used the (retired) Squares Framelits Collection, but if you do not own these yet there are NEW Squares Framelits!!  So excited!! I added them to the list below so you can check them out.  Each size square has a scallop square that will layer behind it.  I LOVE them!!  Not only is there Layering Squares - there are Layering Circles, Layering Ovals and Sweet and Sassy Hearts!!  You will fall in love!!

SPECIAL ORDERS

Tuesday, December 8, 2015
I am so thankful for special orders!! They keep me busy but they also challenge me!
Each December I have a large order for a gal who buys all her birthday, and anniversary cards from me for each of her clients for the next year.  I am thankful that her business continues to grow because that means my business can grow too!
This is the Masculine card that I made for her 149 guy clients - and yesssssss!!! I watercolored everyone of them.  This card was inspired by my fellow Red Hot Stamper, Sarah H, who is a master of watercoloring.  I hope I did her proud.
The stamp set that I used is called THE WILDERNESS AWAITS, a perfect masculine stamp set
Click on the words and it will bring you directly to where you can purchase it on line for yourself.  Please use the HOSTESS CODE for DECEMBER: PVGSWS6T
