Fussy-Cutting

I love to fussy cut! My hand, on the other hand, is not terribly thrilled with how much I do.

When I was relaxing in the evening I decided to cut out all the images from one of the 12x12 sheets of the Storybook Gnome Designer Paper

I chose to case a card by Kylie Page - a Stampin'Up! demonstrator from Australia 

Super cute and the only stamp I used was the warm wishes from Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set

Kylie used the Sentiment Silhouette Dies for the little hearts, but I did not purchase those so I looked back. through what I do have, to see what I could use. I found the Trio of Tags had just what I needed to cut out the hearts.

Easy Pocket Wedding Card

I worked with my last print of the Awash In Beauty Designer Paper

I decided to make an easy pocket card and I made it for a wedding card since I am super low on Wedding Cards.

I grabbed this idea from two different Stampin' Up! demonstrators, Stamptastic Designs, and Melissa Davies

This is your basic way to cut and score your 12" piece of Designer Paper that is scored at 4" and 8"

I changed mine up to include a 1/2" "stopper" inside like, Stamptastic Designs did. but I cut mine at 5-3/8" instead of the 6". I wanted to be sure my card fit into our A2 envelopes.

The stamp set that I chose is Celebrating You.

I had 8 triangles left from cutting the base like this so I made 4 like this

The other 4 triangles will either be donated or used another day.

Storybook Gnomes Designer Paper

The Designer Paper from Stampin' Up! is so extremely versatile. I love how everything coordinates with everything. Today's card features the Storybook Gnomes Designer Paper.

It was inspired by Marciene (no blog)

Because I didn't have he new Decorated Pines Dies so I pulled out my Beautiful Boughs Dies (retired). They are a bit bigger, but I am liking the look. 

Colors are Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen and he designer paper image was punched out with the Decorative Circle Punch.

The Festive Pearls are the perfect touch. They come in Cherry Cobbler, Soft Succulent, Gold and Silver, and they are all the perfect size.

Do you love that Soft Succulent Paper on the card base front? It is from the Festive Foils pack that comes in Soft Succulent, Cherry Cobbler and Gold.

The ladies made this card at a previous Come Stamp With Me Tuesday Class.

Happiness Abounds Beautiful Flowers

This card is a little bit bigger than our standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" A2 Cards

The finished measurement is 5-3/4" square.

This card was inspired by Karen and features the beautiful flowers from the Hues of Happiness Designer Paper as well as the Blossoming Happiness Dies (bundled with the Happiness Abounds stamp set). How fun is this!! I also used some of the silver stripe specialty paper that we got free during Sale a bration. 

The sentiment I chose is from Ringed With Nature stamp set, and cut out with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (retired)

Double Gate Fold Card

Continuing to play with my AWASH IN BEAUTY Designer Paper

This card is an Angled Gate Fold Card

 I was working with this particular pattern from the Awash In Beauty designer paper.

One side has the floral print and the back side is Polished Pink and Basic White. I was more intrigued with the floral print and I cut out flowers and leaves from the print for the floral medallion. I secured the card closed with a mini velcro dot. This card was inspired by Tami.

We used this same technique at the September Card Club and the Hello Harvest Bundle

On a side note - we will be starting a new Card Club Season on Monday, October 17th at 6:30 pm. Please let me know if you would like to join this fun group of ladies once a month to create 2 cards and one 3D project. It is a commitment based club and runs for as long as we have members in the class. One of the months you will be the hostess and will receive all of the hostess benefits from sales that night. Cost for this class is a minimum purchase of $35.00. On this card I chose to use a Belly Band for the closure.

I was still playing with that same print of designer paper when I came across this card inspired by Gail Ellis.

There are elements from Organic Beauty Dies (True Beauty stamp set), Shaded Summer and Tailor Made Tags Dies.

Is It Too Early For An Easter Card?

I shared this card with you on an earlier post

When I fussy cut out these floral pieces, I had some side pieces left over. What to do?

I was able to cut enough triangles to make 4 cards. I used the Stitched Triangles Dies for my triangles and the Seasonal Layers Dies for the Happy Birthday. The stamp set for the Happy Birthday is Go To Greetings and was stamped with Merry Merlot Ink.

NOW... the flip side to this designer paper is a brushed green

Not a lot of pieces left but I thought it would make good grasses.

I took a look through all my the ideas I had set aside and decided to think ahead and make an Easter card inspired by Su Mohr

The grasses and butterflies were cut using the dies from the Daffodil Dies and the "Easter Blessing" is from Daffodil Daydreams stamp set.

I did pull out the retired Ornate Layers dies and the (also retired) In Good Taste Designer Paper for the cross. I followed Su's instructions by layering the designer paper onto card stock to make it more stable and then cut 2 pieces that are 4" long and 2 pieces that are 3" long. I did a little bit of trimming on the ends. I used Old Olive for the sentiment and for the splatter, but the card base is Pear Pizzazz. I found some patterned paper for the butterflies. One is from Pretty Prints, another from Hues of Happiness and the final one (the yellow print) is from Design a Daydream (the hostess exclusive pack of 12x12 designer paper from the annual catalog) Want to get your hands on some of this exclusive paper?
