Valentine for the Tool Man in Your Life

Saturday, January 18, 2014
When I saw this Valentine card idea by Pamala Smith I knew it would be perfect for a guy like my hubby who has a huge collection of tools.

I am sad that the TOOL SHED background stamp is retired but I like to post cards using retired products because if you are like me, you hang on to all the stamps you love, and even if you don't copy it exactly it still gives you an idea of what you can do.  This card will be a great addition to the Used To Be New Consignment Shop in Hudsonville.  So if you are in need of a card for any occasion, stop on by - cost is only $2.00 per card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Cake

Friday, November 22, 2013
This cake was made for a VERY SPECIAL man in our church who is celebrating his 80th birthday.  Since I grew up in this church, this man was a huge foundation in my upbringing.  He is very dear to my heart so I was honored when his family asked me to make the cake for his celebration.  Perk is an avid fisherman so they suggested a fishing theme for his cake.

Not only did they ask me to make the cake but his grand daughter (my hairdresser) asked if I could make him a special card for her to give him.  YOU BET!!  Another one of the things that I remember and appreciate about Perk is that he has a workroom where he would help all the boys (who needed help) to cut out their Pinewood Derby Cars.  He has the most giving heart, and has blessed more lives than will ever be counted.  A TRUE man of God.

Happy Birthday Perk!!

Happy Birthday Joey!

Tuesday, August 27, 2013
Today is our son, Joey's, birthday.  Since both of our boys are home owners we decided to give them gift cards to Lowes for their gift.  It seems like there is always something to be done in home maintenance so for this year it was the perfect gift.  This is the card that we made at a punch art class and I knew it would be perfect to hold Joey's gift card.

I was sad when they discontinued this TOOL SHED background stamp, but I am glad that I hang on to all my background stamps.
This card was inspired by Nance Leedy.

And since we had not seen Joey and Melissa at their first anniversary time we brought along their gift when we celebrated Joey's birthday at a fun restaurant called GOOG's  funny name isn't it??!!
Everyone knows that Hallmark tells us that the traditional first anniversary gift is "paper", right?  So what to give them?

Tissue, Toilet paper and Paper Towel of course!! Oh, and a gift card so they can go out to eat, and a candle for a little romantic atmosphere.
Check out this gift card holder that I made them.  I used the wrapping paper that I used to wrap their gifts so it would all match.

I have made this style gift card holder many times, and thought it would be a fun and easy gift card holder for Joey and Melissa.
