Angry Bird Birthday

Wednesday, January 2, 2013
I have many nieces and nephews that have moved out of state or in one case out of the country, so I don't get to see them as much as I would like.  Last Summer my niece, Heidi, along with her husband, Dennis, and the kids, Edmond and Millie came for a visit.  I had a super short time with them, and they had a bit of a time warming up to me, but after lunch I pulled out my ipad and that certainly sparked an interest with 3 1/2 year old Edmund.  He wanted to play ANGRY BIRDS!  Seems to be a universal language.  Right then and there I knew which card I was going to send to Edmund on his next birthday.    Happy 4th Birthday, Edmund!!

This card was inspired by: Stacie Porter

Thanks For Stopping By!

Happy Birthday Gracie!

Saturday, October 29, 2011
Today is our grand daughter, Gracie's 6th birthday!!
Happy Birthday Gracie!!
Gracie wasn't always so sure that she wanted to grow up, but once she started school and began learning she was all into being a big girl. It has been amazing to see her begin to read already last year when she was in a Pre-Kindergarten class. Oh, and how she loved her teacher. Gramma's word was no longer that one that mattered, but whatever Mrs. LePard said was golden and Gracie loved to please Mrs. LePard!! How cute.

Gracie KNOWS that she is a princess so I loved making this card for her for her 6th birthday

MENU:

Purple Belt

Wednesday, July 27, 2011
Last week our grandson, Tyler, had his Purple Belt Test in his Karate classes.

Julie invited me to come along to watch and
I was so amazed at how intense he was in his test.
He did an absolutely fabulous job.

This is a picture of Tyler receiving his Purple Belt from Master Rick.

So I thought I should make him a card congratulating him on his new level.

This is a tri-fold card

I even stamped the envelope

CONGRATULATIONS, TYLER!!

Have a Blessed Day!!

Happy Birthday, Sister

Today is my sister, Vicky's, 60th birthday!!

Happy Birthday Vicky!!!

When I came across this super fun card I just had to make it up for Vicky to celebrate this special birthday. I'm guessing she will get a big smile from it. This card fits in a standard A10 envelope (4 x 9.75)

I also made a smaller version for my Aunt who lives in Florida. Seeing those pink flamingos made me think of Florida so I thought maybe she would like it too.

INK: Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz, Black, Bashful Blue

“Choo Choo” I’m Wild About You

My daughter had a chance to go to Chicago this past weekend with her friend to the IKEA store, and it made me think about how I have wanted to take a train ride to Chicago some day so I pulled this card out of the archives.  A photo I hadn’t posted yet.  The Choo Choo Stamp Set is still currant but the Wild About You animals stamp set has retired (sorry).  I guess I don’t mind cutting pieces out – I guess it is good therapy for me, but there is a LOT of cutting for this card.  I also used up some old retired designer paper called Delicate Dots. Thank you to My Sassy Stamper on Splitcoast Stampers for this fun idea.

Happy Birthday Anna

Saturday, June 5, 2010

This week I had the privilege of making the birthday cake for Anna who turned 6 years old. She and her mom took a train trip to Chicago and had some time planned to visit the American Girl Doll Store. What fun that sounds like!! Anna's mom helped me out with choosing colors what to paint the main level of our house, and I REALLY appreciate her ideas as this is one area I am NO good at. Thanks Lisa!! So we bartered her expertise for a birthday cake. Fair Deal if I do say so myself!!

Anna wanted a pink purse cake with black polka dots so this is what we came up with...

And this is the card I sent with Dad who picked up the cake and was meeting them in Chicago and having the birthday party with Grandma and Grandpa. 116b 116a

Thanks Coach! and Congratulations!

Wednesday, May 5, 2010
This is a card that I made for Kelly to give to her basketball coach at the end of her basketball season. DSCF2055DSCF2056. It is hard to believe that 13 years ago she was just a 5 month old baby and spent her days at Auntie’s house. Now here she is all grown up and playing on the 7th grade Basketball Team. GO KELLY!!! Of course, it doesn’t surprise us that she made the team. I was able to make only one of her games, but I was glad to at least get that one game in – thanks to my sweet hubby who stayed with the kids so I could go. Now, that’s special !!

This is Kelly #14 and here she is shooting a free throw - what form!

MENU:

SS: Just Basketball, Phrases For a Friend, All in the Family, Family Phrases, Family Accessories, Full of Life
CS: Only Orange, Basic Black, WW, Vellum
INK: StazOn Jet Black, Only Orange, Markers: Only Orange & Brilliant Blue
Accessories: Dimensionals to pop up the basketball

Keeping with the whole basketball theme, this is a card I made for a gal from church who made All-Area Girls Basketball-West. According to the write up in our local newspaper she is a two-year varsity started as a junior in high school. I would say that speaks volumes about her great skills as a basketball player. Congratulations, Hannah!!

So For Now…

Happy Stamping!!!
