Shaving Cream Eggs

Friday, March 29, 2013
This is one of the cards that we made at this months Technique Class.  When I went to Leadership in Orlando last January this is one of the SWAPS I received.  Actually this is a remake of the swap I received.  I liked it so well that I decided to make it for a techniques class using the Shaving Cream Technique.
On Pinterest I saw someone use this technique to color Easter Eggs and thought that Tyler and Gracie would have fun with the shaving cream.

After we finished coloring the eggs (you can see that the Melon Mambo is predominate) I thought we would try it on Glossy card stock.  Tyler's two color combos were Tempting Turquoise and Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight. We mixed the two combos together and this is what Tyler ended up with...

Gracie's two color combos were Melon Mambo and Perfect Plum, Pretty In Pink and ? We mixed Gracie's two combos together and she ended up with this...
Another try, and we left the shaving cream on a little longer and got this...
Next we put the glossy card stock into Tyler's tray then dipped it into Gracie's tray...
Tada! Tye Dyed!

Next step will be to make some fun cards using these.
Thanks for stopping by!

Shaving Cream Technique

Friday, July 2, 2010
This is by far the most fun technique.  When else can you mix men’s shaving cream and ink and come up with such beautiful designs.  The great part is that no two pieces of paper will look the same, therefore creating a special look on each card.  Years ago I went to a class on how to do the Shaving Cream Technique and then recently Glenda showed us again, which spurred me on to do this technique in my class.  This card layout was inspired by Connie Babert on the Stampin’ Connection.  I thought the soft colors of Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Barely Banana (recently retired color) made this card look like sherbet…yummy!
