On March 5th, Lucy's third litter of puppies turned one year old. I have been making birthday cards for the puppies when they have their first birthday.

Here are the sweet puppies, and the cards that I made for them

Even though all the puppies were uniform in size at birth and when they went to their forever homes, Harper and Truffles are the small ones of the batch and Toby, Miles & Elizabelle are all bigger than their momma Lucy. When the new families come to pick out their puppy, one of the most asked questions is "how big do you think they will get?" - We can never guarantee a size. To be honest we were surprised that the three got as big as they did because the daddy, Loki, is not bigger than Lucy (at least not much bigger - sometimes it's hard to tell when he isn't groomed as tight as we groom our dogs.)

Also, our Tori is a pup of Loki and she is pretty small.

One thing we can say...EVERYONE loves their puppies that they buy from us.

Lucy is a fantastic mama and will be delivering her fourth litter in April. Will it be her last? Not sure, we will see how she does with this next litter. The vet said that as long as she is healthy she's good to go.

Yesterday I gave you an update on Katy, but today I need to share some good news about Lucy

Lucy surprised us on Friday by delivering her puppies 3 days early. Her due date would have been between March 8-10 so when I stepped over to where she was resting in my craft room, I was noticing that she was panting. On further inspection she had already delivered puppy #1 and was in the process of delivering puppy #2.

Whew! a quick text to my hubby at work so he could come home and help.

It's so hard to get a good picture because Lucy is so protective, but I snapped this one when she went outside to do her "business".

They are all very uniform in size ranging from 5.5 oz and 6 oz.

We always give each of them names as they are born to keep track of who is who.

This time around we started the ABC naming game

Puppy #1 - Angelica

Puppy #2 - Bear

Puppy #3 - Candy

Puppy #4 - Dexter

Puppy #5 - Eliza

Yesterday I took them to the vet to get their dew claws removed. It's hard on Lucy when we take them away so Dale had to distract her with going outside and then getting a much needed bath.

Our grand daughter, Gracie, was here again on the day they were born so she had a hand in naming 3 of them. Angelica and Eliza are from her favorite movie (right now), Hamilton.

Gracie will be getting one of the male puppies and has her sites on Bear right now, even though the name they chose for their puppy when it goes home will be Toby...Toby Bear! He is the lightest in color.

I will not be spending as much time in the craft room for the first couple weeks, but thankfully I have preplanned several cards for classes in advance so I will still have some fresh cards to post for you.

So - in light of our sweet puppies, I thought I should share with you a fun card from the PAMPERED PETS Stamp Set

Lucy's puppies are 2 weeks old today!

Their sweet little eyes are opening slowly, and it is so much fun to watch them change, day by day.

I wanted to share a sweet card that we received from a friend and fellow stamper (on my team), Inez.

I think it is so clever how she stamped "congratulations" 6 times - one for each pup

Inside she says she can't wait to see them all running in 6 different directions.

We thought having 4 puppies last year was challenging but now it is SIX!

The grandkids came over to see how the puppies were growing

The girls are bummed that they cannot crawl inside the dog crate like they used to before the puppies arrived

Sawyer made sure that katy got some major snuggle time

Oh, and here is the newest photos of the puppies - soon their eyes will be open! Every day we see a change.

It won't be long and they will not all fit in this basket. It's what I use to transport them from upstairs to downstairs and back again so that they are always with one of us.

And a close-up - ChaChi is on the left, Ralph is on the right and I am not sure whose little face is popping through the two of them

Oh, and we found out that Ralph will be called "Joey" by his new owners - I love it! I am very partial to the name Joey!

Many times I will get a special order for a card.
This time I was asked for a card that had 2 Adirondack chairs sitting as though the people were enjoying the Lake Michigan beaches.
I saw a card on Pinterest by Jacque Williams (no blog link) so set making it my own.

I had some friends over to stamp that day and one liked it so well and said it would be perfect for an anniversary card for a family member who had a home by the lake. BINGO! Now I could make another card for her! What a win-win situation!!
Here is what I did:
Card Base: Crumb Cake card stock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"
Pool Party 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" and 5" x 3-3/4" and embossed with the wood grain embossing
folder
Layering Circles Dies in Crumb Cake and Water Color Paper
Wood grain designer paper - cut 2 Adirondack chairs from the Colorful Season Dies
(retired)
Burlap Trim and Mini Gold Sequin Trim (both retired)
Water color the beach images using Crumb Cake, Pacific Point & Balmy Blue.

Just a little fun to brighten your day: Our ShihTzu/Bichon mix 3 year old pup, Lucy, delivered 6 puppies yesterday. We are so in love already

It was a "Happy Days" kind of day at the Waite Estate!
Meet Fonzi, Richie, Joanie, ChaChi, Ralph & Pinky. Hard to see them all, but they are huddled right in the protection of mama Lucy! She did such a great job - taking 2 hours and 20 minutes. Needless to say, she is exhausted.
I'm sure you will be seeing many photos as they start to grow and change.

Forever Homes

Lucy's puppies are 8 weeks old today and ready to go live with their forever families.
I cannot imagine how Lucy will react once they are all gone. I'm sure there will be a time of adjustment, but we are thrilled for the families who will love on them.
Nanny Katy will probably miss them just as much as Lucy since she is playing with them all the time.
When they were born they were so tiny, weighing from 5.2 oz and 6.2 oz. and now they weigh between 3.13# and 4.25#. We gave them some cute temporary names thanks to my sweet friend Melissa who had such clever ideas (we thought)
Left to right in this little basket is Spice, Licorice, Pumpkin & Tootsie Roll.

They were 4 1/2 weeks old in this next photo and we had fun taking them outside to get the feel of the grass. They loved it!

Spice was renamed Hattie by her forever family. We are told that Hattie means "keeper of the home"

Pumpkin was renamed Belle by her forever family because their favorite princess is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I am sure they will treat Belle just like a princess

Licorice was renamed Addie Mae by her forever family and she is going to be trained as an emotional support dog - so cool

Miss Tootsie Roll is now names Tess. We love all the sweet names that their forever families have chosen

We sure will miss them, but we are confident they are going to loving families.
I made some cards for the families who bought our sweet puppies.

Little Pumpkin and Spice aka Belle and Hattie were born first. I wasn't at Lucy's side to see if they came from the same sack making them true twins, but since they look so much alike we call them the twins.

They love to snuggle up together and most times we will see them teaming up in play and in sleep. Their favorite napping place is under our chair.

I continue to ask that you partner with me as I am trying to earn the trip to Maui. I cannot do it without your help.
