Grrreat!

My friend Carla had a car/deer accident on her way to work last week. I had printed this idea off Lynn Pratt's blog and thought this would be a perfect time to make it up to send to Carla.

The inside said ...
"Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug"
I slashed out "bug" and wrote "deer".
I wanted to stamps a deer and cut it out, but just didn't have the heart.

'Smore Summer!!

This is the card that I gave all the kids on their last days here at Auntie's, and one for Tyler and Gracie too as they are all finished with school and look forward to having fire pit cook outs in their back yard. They might even get a chance to go camping this summer and they just love making the graham cracker 'Smores treats.

Thanks to my friend Marla who let me borrow her Under the Stars stamp set.
And thanks to Brenda Buschman for her creative idea.

The puffy marshmallow filling was made using a product called Liquid Applique. A product that Stampin' Up! used to carry but has since been discontinued.

Colors used: Chocolate Chip and Marina Mist
The Bear and the 'Smores were stamped on Creamy Caramel which has also been discontinued.

Summer isn’t over yet!

Just five more days and the kids will be back in school, but summer isn’t over yet! Technically we have summer until September 20th. What is my favorite part of summer? Someone asked me that once and I couldn’t come up with an answer because I really am not a fan of the hot summer weather, but as we are closing out on summer, the one thing I will miss the most…wearing my white capri pants! Silly, I know, but I love my white capris. I watch the calendar very faithfully for the first day of Spring and wear them on that day no matter what the weather is. So today I am showing you a fun Summer themed card.

This fun idea came from one of the gals on the Stampin’ Connection – where I glean many of the card ideas I share with you. So enjoy these last few weeks of summer!!

INK: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel marker
Accessories: Dimensionals, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Distressing Tool, Word Window Punch, Circle punches
The seeds on the watermelon were made with a snowflake punch and I just snipped off the ends of the “flake”, and I free handed the glass of lemonade on vellum them sponged Summer Sun onto the bottom half.
