Piano Girl!

Wednesday, September 25, 2013
Today is our Daughter, Jessica's, birthday.  Hard to believe it has only been three years since our Jeff married Jessica.  It feels like she has belonged to our family all the time.  We love her dearly!
Jessica is a beautiful musician.  Not only does she play and teach the violin she also plays the piano and accompanies Jeff when he sings in church (she sings with him too).  I bet Jess wishes their little house could hold a beautiful grand piano like what is on her birthday card this year.
I used two retired stamp sets: Flores Suaves for the butterfly (but you could easily use BEST OF BUTTERFLIES) and Sincere Salutations (But any sentiment would work)
The musical note embossing folder is one I had on hand from a local craft store.  The piano was just hand cut (I made myself a pattern to keep on hand)
Colors I used besides the black and white are Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango

Happy Birthday Jessica!! With love!!

Get Well Butterfly

Wednesday, July 3, 2013
One of the sweet friends I have met through being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator showed me this card she made - Great job Geri!  so last week when she had surgery on her shoulder I thought I would give her sketch challenge a try to make a Get Well card for her.
It's a fun new way to use the embossing folder!  Get Well Soon Geri!!
One of the BEST NEW TOOLS that Stampin' Up! came out with in this newest catalog is the MAGNETIC PLATFORM for your BIG SHOT!  In fact, I personally think it is THE BEST new product in the book!

#130658 $39.95
I LOVE all the punches but the NEW Framelits are also quite amazing tools and with the NEW Magnetic Platform it makes cutting your items out so much easier! No more post-it notes to hold them in place.

Okay, now on to my regular post

The time is getting closer each day to Joey and Melissa's wedding so I thought using a stamp set called A SENSE OF TIME for my post today was perfect.  Here is a card that I made using this retired set that I borrowed from a fellow Red Hot Stamper, Belinda.  This first one was a simple layout and a NAPR (No Additional Postage Required) card, and inspired by Katherine Fiander

This next one was inspired by Justene Phoenix and features the retired clock works
embellishments, EnFrancais back ground stamp and Sincere Salutations (retired)
YIKES!!! only three days before the wedding!!

Thanks For Stopping By!

Have a Blessed Day!!

February Stamp A Stack Part 2

Monday, February 20, 2012

I need to sneak just one card in there that is a little bit more
"something/something."

SS: Loving Thoughts, Fifth Avenue Floral (stem)

Tips: I used a mini mister spray bottle w/rubbing alcohol and added several
drops of Soft Suede ink refill and sprayed the Very Vanilla Cardstock. Using
the 1 1/4" Circle Punch I rounded one corner and then using my bone folder,
I broke down the fibers on that corner and then purposefully separated the layers
in the card stock. The leaves were also made using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.

January Stamp A Stack Part 2

Friday, January 13, 2012
Two more cards we are making at this months Stamp A Stack Classes...

CARD #3

This card was designed after a card made by my friend and fellow
Red Hot Stamper, Sarah. Sarah used a different punch for the large
flower, but I wanted to feature the NEW punch called: Blossom Punch.
The leaves are from the Build a Blossom Punch and the center flower
is from the Boho Blossoms Punch, and an In Color Brad to complete it.
The Stamp set used is the wonderful old stand by called
Sincere Salutations. I love how she added the strip of Elegant
Eggplant Card Stock before she used the Tulip Border Embossing Folder.
Thanks for letting me 'steal' your idea Sarah!

CARD #4

MENU:

SS: Hand Penned
CS: WW, Real Red
INK: Real Red
PUNCH: Hearts Corner
Accessories: Adorning Accents Embossing Folder (NEW)
(this comes in a set of three. You will be seeing more to come)
Dimensionals, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit Die, Basic Rhinestone

Get Well Soon

Monday, January 2, 2012
Over Christmas Break my little friend, Jade,
had the misfortune to break her hand.
No way to spend Christmas break, I know,
so I wanted to be sure to send
her a cute get well card.
This Band-Aid Card was a tutorial I had sitting on my desk for...
well, FOREVER, or so it seemed.
I got it from Lynn Pratt's blog at
www.stampndesign.blogspot.com

I changed it up just a bit because I could not get it to raise up
according to her tutorial so I just made a 2 1/4" square of card stock,
rounded the corners and pierced with my paper piercer and mat, then
"popped it up" using Stampin' Dimensionals.
I used a retired card stock called Creamy Caramel and
I sponged all the edges using the same color ink.
The greeting from Sincere Salutations is stamped in Chocolate Chip.

Thanks For Stopping By!

Have a Blessed Day!!

March Workshops

Wednesday, March 30, 2011
During the month of March I was blessed to have three In Home Workshops. This was such a great time to hold a workshop because of Sale A Bration. For every $50 each customer purchased they were able to pick one FREE stamp set from the Sale A Bration flyer. In fact...there is still time to get in on this great deal as it goes through March 31st. Contact me NOW if you want to place an order before it is too late to get in on this great deal.

Last night was my last workshop for March and I had an extra special treat - - - One of the ladies that attended last nights workshop was my third grade teacher many, many years ago! It was so great to have her there and connect again with someone who was very impactful in my young life.

These are the three cards that we made at the workshops...

This next card features the stamp set called Easter Blossoms, also from the Occasions Mini catalog. I showed the ladies how they can use our great markers to color the stamps and create a great look. As well as showing them a new look for their ribbon.

I'm looking forward to the Workshops that are scheduled for April and hoping to book several more.

There is a GREAT DEAL in April for when you hostess a workshop in your home or mine... for a $350 workshop the hostess earns FREE a NEW stamp set called Four Frames and a pack of BEAUTIFUL 12x12 Designer paper called Paisley Petals.

Click HERE to see a bigger image and how beautiful it is, and what a great deal this is. Perhaps you don't want to hostess a workshop but would still like to purchase this stamp set and Designer Paper. For a purchase of only $20 you can have the privilege to purchase these two items before they come out in the big Catalog and Idea Book in July.

Happy Birthday, Jessica!!

Saturday, September 25, 2010

What a joy it is to wish our new (almost) daughter-in-law a Happy Birthday!! Only two more weeks and she will officially be ours!! A gal I know used to always call her mother-in-law, her mother-in-love, and I really like that. It shows the bond they shared and that they were related through love, not just the law, so perhaps Jessica will be our daughter-in-love. We love you Jess! Have a great day!!

This is the card I chose to send Jess – I thought it fit in with the scheme of the wedding. This isn’t exactly a sunflower, but it’s as close as I got.jessica bday 2010

MENU:
SS: Inspired By Nature, Sincere Salutations
CS: Soft Suede, Crushed Curry (retired), Old Olive, Very Vanilla
INK: Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Old Olive (markers)

Bridal Shower Invitations

Friday, September 17, 2010
Tomorrow is the Bridal shower my sisters are giving for Jessica, and this is the invitation that I made for it.
I love the colors that Jeff and Jess chose for their wedding – brown and burnt orange. Of course with Stampin’ Up! you can’t just call your paper brown and orange – so I used Chocolate Chip and Really Rust. If you could see this in person you would see the way it glistens from spritzing the front with our Champagne Shimmer Paint – so elegant!

Tyler loved pitching in to help crank out the Top Note using Gramma’s BIG SHOT. It really was a big help because this card has a LOT of layers, but it is just perfect for this special occasion. I will post photos later but not right away, as I am headed for a weekend with my mom and sisters after the shower is done. Have a great weekend everyone - I know I will!!

Workshop Cards

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

This is a card we made at one of Glenda’s STAMP A STACK classes and I kept it on my work table thinking that I would use this for a class some day. When I booked a workshop and she wanted to make three different cards vs. a One Sheet Wonder I thought this would be a perfect time to use this idea. One problem was that some of these In-Colors are discontinued so…

Aug workshop 1

I switched it up to use some of our new colors

August workshop 2

and ribbon. Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Concord Crush using the Itty Bitty Bits Stamp Set and the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

Card number 2 … a great guy card! I was disappointed when the motorcycle stamp didn’t cross over into the big catalog in July so TODAY is your last day to order this stamp if it is on your MUST HAVE list.

DSCF0009 Embossing it on the Big Shot gives it a great textured look. The sentiment is also from a stamp set that can only be ordered today – called Watercolor Trio. Seriously I do not know why they didn’t carry these two over into the big catalog. Colors used on this card are Sahara Sand, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.

Card Number 3 is my personal favorite DSCF0008

I love butterflies because they are a great visual reminder of the new life we can have in Christ.

Colors used here are Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla.
Don’t you just love the new Victoria lace down the front? This is a new item in the catalog that will stay current through June 2011!! I can imagine I will use a lot of this beautiful lace.

We used the “paper to stamp” technique and the color spritzing tool and sponges to create the great background look.

Once again I snagged these ideas from the Stampin' Connection. Thanks to all the great demonstrators that share their ideas with us!

If you would like to have a workshop we can make cards like these for you and your friends. What a fun way to spend an evening!! Call today or email and I will get you scheduled.

So For Now…

Happy Stamping!!
