BALLET BEAUTY is our stamp feature for today

Our grand daughter, Gracie, has always been our favorite ballerina, but she is no longer dancing, but has been participating in the school and community plays.

I guess there is a time and a season for everything, but I sure do miss watching her dance. (I'm thinking my daughter is enjoying not having to pay for all her lessons and the expense costumes)

Gracie is now 17 years old, but this photo was taken several years ago (2019) In one of her dances she danced to I CAN ONLY IMAGINE by Mercy Me and dedicated it to my mom, her great-grandma, as this was her first dance after mom passed away. Still brings tears to my eyes. I treasure these moments and memories.

And here she is playing the Tin Man in the Community Theater

We are anxious to see her in her next performance at the high school where they are doing Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat.

Follow The Yellow Brick Road

What did you do this weekend?
We were privileged to watch our grand daughter, Gracie, in the Children's Theater production of Dorothy in Wonderland. A fun mix of Wizard of Oz and Alice In Wonderland.
Gracie played the role of Tin Man.

I couldn't resist making her a fun card to tell her how proud we are of her.

I had to dust off some retired products to make this card, and I am so glad that I saved the how-to from creationsonpaper because she no longer maintains a blog.
I love Punch Art, and the Owl Builder Punch, and the Bird Builder Punch have always been favorites of mine.
The Yellow Brick Road was made using a non-Stampin' Up! embossing folder, but Stampin' Up! just came out with a brand new BRICK & MORTAR Embossing Folder that I could have used IF I had purchased it before I made this card.
Clouds: Lift Me Up
Banner: Stitched Labels Dies but I trimmed off the eyelet edges (and love the results)
Dorothy: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Basic Black, Red Glitter paper
Other punches: Medium Oval (R), Scalloped Oval (R).
Scarecrow: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Real Red (patch), Marina Mist (patch), Tangerine Tango (wings), Crumb Cake
Other Punches: Medium Oval (R)
Tin Man: Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Black.
The hat is just a hand cut triangle with a snip of Basic Gray for the tip.
MINI Rhinestones for his buttons
Lion: So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip
Other Punches: Scallop Circle, 1/4" circle (basic hand held hole punch)
I did some some sponging on each one and added White Gel Pen to the eyes, and for the screws on the Tin Man.

Only 1 Week Until Gracie's 13th Birthday!

Gracie absolutely loves Lucy and when we had a family photo shoot she made sure that she got to have her picture taken with Lucy
This photo was taken last year when Gracie was turning 12 years old

Gracie is growing up so much, but is still very petite for her age. In this photo she is in 6th grade - Middle School, and Lucy is 6 months old - I also can't believe how much Lucy has changed.

2 Weeks Until Gracie's 13th Birthday!

Just 5 days before Gracie's 11th birthday, little Lily was born! Now we had 2 grandson's and 2 granddaughters! We are blessed!! Of course now we have Miss Mercy making it 3 grand daughters to 2 grandsons! Will there be more - we never know, but we are just so thrilled with the precious lives that the good Lord gives us.

The birthday cake for Gracie's party with her friends was one of the easiest cakes that I have ever made! And look how yummy this is! Her friends thought it was the coolest cake ever!! And who wouldn't, with all that candy on it!!

Gracie's treat for today -

If I was clever I would have had her treat be Kit Kat bars & Skittles!

But, Gracie loves her Cherry Coke and when I found the Cherry Cola flavored Mike 'n Ike I just had to get them for her. I used the BUBBLE OVER Stamp Set and Dies for the cola bottle. To cause the cola to look "fizzy", I only inked it up to a certain level then used my STAMPIN' SPONGE to "feather" it out.

3 Weeks Until Gracie's 13th Birthday!

When Gracie turned 10 years old she was really into the little SHOPKINS so gramma had to make her birthday cake designed like "WISHES" the SHOPKIN Birthday Cake

I found these crayon holders at the store and picked up a few, knowing that they would surely come in handy for a treat or for a craft sale item. (you may remember that I also made one for my mom for her birthday.) I chose to buy the clear ones so that I could decorate them more easily. I filled one up with the mini Hershey candy bars. It holds 16 of them.

The finished product - I used the sentiment from DANDELION WISHES, and how true it is!!

I used the (retired) BUBBLES AND FIZZ Designer paper from Sale a bration last January through March. The sentiment is framed perfectly with the STITCHED SHAPES FRAMELITS and the LAYERING OVALS FRAMELITS (SCALLOPED)

4 Weeks Until Gracie's 13th Birthday!

For Gracie's 9th birthday I had taken her to the mall and the Build a Bear store.  She was really into My Little Pony and Applejack was her favorite.

Gracie's treat for this week is... More Sugary Treats!! (I should have been creative and bought her a box of Apple Jack cereal!)

This cute little pouch made from the ANIMAL EXPEDITION Designer Series Paper and ANIMAL OUTING STAMP SET was one of the swaps I received from Charlene Whitt when we had the Meet & Greet back in July. I added the giraffe and kangaroo to the front with the banner. I took out the Vera Bradley treats and added some fun size M&M's. But one little fun size M&M is NEVER enough so I added 3 full size bags to her treat. I imagine she will share some with her friends.

Here is an adorable card using the ANIMAL OUTING Stamp Set that we made at one of our Card Clubs

5 Weeks Until Gracie's 13th Birthday!

If you are keeping track, you will have noticed that Gracie is wearing the same top in this 8 year  photo as she was in her 7 year photo. She has always been such a little peanut - which, of course, is the name of the little elephant she is holding.

Gracie loved to play with all of Gramma's stuffed elephants!
Gracie's treat this week is...
Some pretty pink lip gloss.  At 13 she is all about dolling herself up with lip gloss and even some mascara.
To get the lovely lipstick clip art on the tag I simply printed out the lipstick when I googled lipstick clip art. I wanted to make one with punches but this came up and it was perfect.

6 Weeks Until Gracie's 13th Birthday!

This is definitely a typical school picture, but at this point they have come so far from how it was when Dale and I were in grade school

I just love her little toothless smile!
Gracie's treat for this week is...FLUFFY STUFF!!

The cute little tag was made using the EASTER LAMB (retired) stamp because this cotton candy is called FLUFFY STUFF. I used the Shimmery EMBOSSING PASTE and the HEAT TOOL to give this little lamb her wool.

I imagine if Gracie keeps eating all this sugar she will end up with more missing teeth (LOL)

7 Weeks Until Gracie's 13th Birthday!

At (almost) age 6 Gracie started kindergarten

I think her back pack was bigger than her, but her mommy was super small at this age too.

She was so excited to be in big school like big brother Tyler, but now she is not necessarily too fond of school.  No worries, Gracie, neither was Gramma, but I made it through!!
This is Gracie's treat for this week..

Gracie can enjoy a yummy Costco blueberry muffin and then make some for herself and her family later.  She loves to bake with Gramma!
