Happy Birthday, Sawyer!

Today we are celebrating our Sweet Sawyer's 12th birthday!!

This photo was taken on their final day of this years home schooling program. They love their ice cream!!

Not only are we celebrating his birthday, but we are celebrating the fact that his recent surgery to remove several concerning spots on his face and body came back as NO CANCER!! We are so thankful for God's continued mercies on this young man (& our entire family) 

He has to endure so much with his XP condition (Xyroderma Pigmentosum) so when we got these great results we knew we would need to celebrate.

Born on the 4th of July - he is our little firecracker!! Many times I will gear his birthday card around the 4th of July theme. This year one of my team members, Debbie, made such a cute card to share with us, that I asked her to make one for me to give to Sawyer. He loved the spinner part of the card. (the center candle topper spins)

I put together this little goodie for him - he loves to work in the kitchen and now he can make a cake for his family. Debbie had a similar treat tray and I copied her. It's hard to see in this photo, but I found a foil pan has an American flag design.

I also made up some goodie bags for all of the little grands - Each bag contains a Little Debbie, a Ring Pop, and a bottle of bubbles all themed with Red, White & Blue.  

The little treats in front contain R-W-B Tootsie Rolls which I had to purchase on Amazon because I couldn't find any R-W-B candies in the stores.

Sawyer chose to go to Applebee's restaurant for his birthday dinner with Bumpa & Yaya.

His choice was Chicken Strips, Mac 'n Cheese & Chocolate Milk.

After dinner out we went to the store to let him pick out his birthday gift. He chose a Hot Wheels City, Mega Loop Garage. He loves to build things with his daddy and he loves to play with cars. He even had a bonus - the set he chose was on sale 1/2 price!!

Today their family came for a burger fry. The hardest part is that we can never sit outside to have a picnic because Sawyer cannot be in the sun. We make do, though. Mommy had a migraine so she stayed home to be quiet and rest, while the rest of the (very noisy) gang came here.

Fern & Flora

Today's card features the lovely designer paper MOONLIT FLORA which coordinates with the FERN & FLORA bundle.

This card was Inspired by Ann Schach and was a big hit for my Tuesday stampers.

The designer paper does most of the work for you!! To save on the designer paper I cut my front piece 4" x 5-1/2". The card base is Thick Basic White that measures 5-1/2" x 8" scored at 4"

Depending on where you cut your designer paper, you might end up putting the sentiment on the right hand side (like Ann did).

I had to figure out the measurements so I chose to cut some Basic White at 4-1/8" x 3". With the Designer Paper being 4" x 2-7/8".

Also depending on which piece of Designer Paper that my Tuesday stampers received in their kit, the can add some little flowers (I added one), and there is a cute moth stamp that they can add if their particular piece didn't include one.

SPOTLIGHT ON NATURE and a 1-3/4" circle punch (Secret Sea card stock) are used for the sentiment and I also used the GREETINGS FOR ALL MIX & MATCH EPHEMERA PACK for the sentiment. My Tuesday stampers can choose from a variety of sentiments.

And just a few Basic Rhinestones add just the right bling!

Relaxing Waterside

I think I'm in all my glory because all of the elements on this card are fussy-cut out. I know that I am probably in the minority, but give me a designer paper that has pieces to cut out and I'm a happy camper.

The stunning RELAXING WATERSIDE BUNDLE with the gorgeous WATERSIDE RETREAT 12x12 is a winning combination.

My card club gals made this card last night which was Inspired by MaryAnn Cowan 

The second card that they made (inspired by Sue Campfield)

And then we always make a 3D project. Most of the time it is a box of some sort.

I thought it was appropriate to fill them with "life savers". I really wanted the white ones, but they were not available when I was shopping for something to fit in the little drawer.

It is called a Pop Up Drawer Box inspired by Brenda Quintana

Fern & Flora Anniversary Card

 Today's card is called a TRIPLE FOLD REVEAL CARD

I followed the instructions from Connie Stewart, but I changed it up, making it an Anniversary card (instead of a thank you card). To do this I used PHRASES & FRAMES stamp set and EXTRAORDINARY FLORA stamp set. 

Stampin' Up! Supplies: 

Stamps: Fern & Flora

Paper: Berry Burst, Mossy Meadow & Basic White, Moonlit Flora DSP

Ink: Peaceful Pine

Stampin' Blends: Berry Burst (light), Old Olive (light)

Other: Berry Burst Shiny Ribbon

Berry Burst card base: 9-3/4" x 5-1/2"

    6"x3" (mini card) scored at 3"

    3" x 1-1/4" (front greeting layer)

Mossy Meadow: 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" (x2)

Designer Paper: 4" x 5-1/4" (x2) front and back

     5-1/4" x 1 (x2) side layers

Basic White: 2-3/4" x 1" (front greeting)

     1-1/2" x 2-3/4  (x2) (mini card layer and die cut flowers)

     4" x 5-1/4" (inside)

Velvet Meadows Thinking of You

Playing with the Eyelet Blooms die (this was the Product of the Month in April), the Impressions Plate, and the gorgeous new Velvet Meadow Speciality DSP.

strip of White Willow card stock for the sentiment was just shy of 3/4" x approximately 2-1/8"
