Two special cakes for three special girls

Two special girls from church, Kaela and Elizabeth, are celebrating their 8th birthday party together.  This year they chose to have a skating theme.

Another special girl in my life lives right down the road.  Jade also turned 8 years old this week.  She and her friends are having a manicure party at the salon so they chose this cake with the “bling” to help celebrate her special birthday.

This is very stylish purple ‘nail polish’ by the way!!

Winter's First Snowfall

Look what we woke up to this morning!! Just in time too as Dale's brother is arriving tonight from Alabama and he doesn't get to see snow too often. We talked with him last night and I'm pretty sure he is the one who prayed this snow in!! We are looking forward to a few special days with big brother Phil. Happy Winter Everyone!!

Build a Bear

Our Church hosts the Grace Academy of Arts and recently they had their very first Friday Evening at Grace featuring the students of the Arts Academy.  Two girls from our church who are in the ballet classes did such a wonderful job that I couldn’t resist making a special card for them.  Now, if you have been following my blog at all you will know that I am the biggest copier ever.  There are so many great ideas out there that I don’t take time to create on my own, but as I watched the girls dance I could visualize this card in my head.  I couldn’t wait to see how it would turn out.  Now I can’t wait to see if the girls like them.  Two other girls from church did a phenomenal job singing so I made them cards too using the same Build a Bear, but I gave them a microphone (and no tutu).  Silly me I forgot to snap a picture of them.

Trash or Treasure

When I purchased this 12 pack of mini gel pens to use for the little post-it note holders, I immediately thought, “I can’t throw this away, I’m sure I can find some use for the empty box. Sure enough – I found this wonderful poem on Jackie Bolhuis’ blog. You can check out her sight here.

Holland Rescue Mission

My Bible Study Coordinator, Helen, asked if I would make up some card kits for the ladies at the Holland Rescue Mission where she and her two daughters minister at. I had given her a Christmas card last year using the stamp set SEASON OF SIMPLE GRACE and she wanted me to use that set for this project as it so wonderfully tells the whole Christmas story.      All the pieces (16 per card) are cut and ready to assemble into packages.

  

The finished card… May your season be touched with the simple grace of Christ’s love.
