This card inspired by DeAnn Rauzi is one of the cards that we are making at this months Stamp A Stack classes.  This is a versatile card where the ladies can choose to make it a Thank You, as seen here or they could make it a Valentine Card, Anniversary Card, Thinking of You... You're Unforgettable + RHSSC #71

Sunday, January 13, 2013

Today is "coming home day" so I thought showing this card that says "You're Unforgettable" was a good idea for today's post.  As I was making it I tried to think how could I make Henry (the stamp, not the stuffed friend) unforgettable, so I decided to use the Baby Wipe Technique.
Basic instructions are to take a few layers of baby wipes - I think I used two and then folded them to make a nice pad, and put that on a paper plate, then I went to my ink refills from the Brights Collection and just started putting drops of ink randomly on the baby wipe which created a color pallet.  Then using the Beyond Plaid #129201 $23.95 wood mount or #129204 $17.95 stamp set from the NEW Spring Catalog, I inked up the argyle looking print onto Whisper White card stock and using Black Staz On Ink I stamped Henry on top of that and cut him out.  The cute little bowler hat fit perfectly for this type card. To make Henry's eye look bigger I used a mini black brad (purchased from a local craft store). It kept his eye from getting lost in the print pattern.  I also used the Argyle Textured Embossing Folder on the Rich Razzleberry paper.

I made this card late at night and didn't clean everything up before hitting the pillow and in the morning my baby wipe and paper plate looked like this...I'm glad I had four layers of paper plates so it didn't seep onto my table top.

and when I pulled off the baby wipe my paper plate looked like this...pretty huh?!
I just couldn't throw this out so I cut a 3 1/2" circle using my Bigz 3 1/2" Circle Die and now look what I made with that "lucky leftover"...
Another new item used is the Tea Lace Paper Doily # 129399 $2.95 (for 24 - 4" doilies) I love them, they are a wonderful quality.  In fact this is the base card that we are using for the Girls Get Away at church.  You will see those invitations posted later.
Stamp Set: Secret Garden and the Secret Garden coordination Framelits so I only had to hand cut the two smallest sizes.  Purchase the stamp set and the framelits as a bundle #131100 $42.95 Wood Mount, or #131099 $36.95 Clear Mount.

Today is also Red Hot Stamper Sketch Challenge day so here is the sketch we had to work with...
And this is my take on it...
These new stamp sets OH, WHALE! and CIAO, BABY are available in the spring catalog.  I loved the was it turned out so much that we will be using this in one of my future Stamp A Stack classes.
Now click HERE to see what the other Red Hot Stampers came up with for this sketch.

Henry Says...Happy Birthday

Saturday, January 12, 2013
Here is another Birthday card from Henry, teamed up again with the WISHES YOUR WAY stamp set.  The Designer Paper is from the upcoming Sale A Bration brochure called SYCAMORE STREET that you can get FREE with a $50 purchase.  Come stamp and shop with me during Sale A Bration (January 22 - March 22).  Not only do you get to pick one item FREE with every $50 purchased, you also get to write your name on my 50/50 board (winner gets $50 to spend on Stampin' Up! products through me) AND you get a punch on your Frequent Stamper Punch Card.  When you get 10 punches you get to choose a stamp set of your choice from any current catalog.  My gift to you for your faithful purchases.
The little pinwheel was cut right from the Designer Paper and then I colored half a toothpick with Island Indigo Ink and a sponge dauber.

Henry Says...It's Your Birthday!

Friday, January 11, 2013
What a fun way to team up matching party invitations with the birthday card!  This actually happened by accident  when I stamped Henry in the same dotted Designer paper, but when I put it on the birthday card it was too busy.  I certainly didn't want to waste a good cut out image of Henry so I went back to the sketch challenge binder for  an idea to make a matching invitation.

Feeling Sentimental

Thursday, January 10, 2013
Today is the first day of the Stampin' Up! Leadership Convention in Orlando Florida, and tonight Managers and above get to go the Exclusive Managers Reception.  Henry is holding my ticket and the invitation is sitting right next to him.  Where are we going?  We are going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios!  Notice he is sitting on a stack of Harry Potter Movies...  Thanks to my friend Marla who owns them all and let us borrow them since we have never seen any of them we wanted to watch them before we left so I would know what to expect when I got there.
And since we were watching Harry Potter, Henry thought he would join us.  Henry is wearing Tyler's Harry Potter glasses that he used for his Halloween costume this past year.

In this particular episode Harry's form of transportation to Hogwarts School is through a telephone booth just like this one. Henry and I couldn't resist making a card in honor of my earning the FREE Exclusive Managers Reception.

and while my hubby and I were enjoying a day at Disney's Epcot Center we saw this phone booth and just HAD to have my picture taken by it.  I tried stepping inside to see if it would transport me to Hogwarts, but alas, it didn't open.
I thought I should make up my January Thank You notes using the FEELING SENTIMENTAL stamp set from the Sale A Bration Brochure.  This is just one of the stamp sets that you will be able to earn FREE with a $50 purchase between January 22nd and March 22nd.

Does this ever happen to you when you are stamping? Where you get ink on the edge of the rubber and mess up your card?  UURRGG!!
Here is a simple solution ~ all you need to do is take your handy dandy CRAFT AND RUBBER SCISSORS (pg 180 #103179 $19.95) and trim all around the edge to remove the excess rubber.  These Scissors are PERFECT and cut through your rubber like butter. When they get a bit gunky from the stickiness just clean them up with a little goo-gone.
TADA!  now you can get a perfect image!

Another super fun thing about going to any Stampin' Up! events are the SWAPS!  Earlier I showed you the card that I was swapping, but if you missed it click HERE to see it.  Then I thought I would like to bring along some 3D swaps because I know from experience that there will be some 3D swappers out there and I will wish I had something to swap with them. So this is my 3D swap
Fun little note books using some of the new Designer Paper and Stamps.  I can't wait to show you all the fun things I swap for.  Stay tuned...

Henry Says...Congratultions!

Wednesday, January 9, 2013
Wouldn't this be a fun card to send as a Baby Congratultions, or any congratulations for that matter.
Aren't you proud of me - I haven't CASED anyone all week long!  When I started out making cards using the HENRY SAYS! stamp set I pulled out my handy dandy sketch challenge binder that Glenda gave her Red Hot Stamper team way back when and chose sketches from there.
