A December Wedding

Last week we attended the wedding of my "Birthday Buddy", Kaitlyn, and this is the card that I made for Zane and Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn has always been special to me because we share a birthday. I was her leader in the Girls Club at church and she was about 10 years old when we found out we shared a special day. So it really was a privilege to not only attend her wedding but to be asked to make her cake. Originally they thought they would decorate in the blues and snowflakes so I made this card using Snowflake Soiree and Baroque Motifs inspired by Meghan Nishi (I had to computer generate the greeting), I think it turned out very elegant.  I also made some just like this and stamped Merry Christmas on the bottom.

Want to see the cake?  The Tiger Lilies on the cake were in memory of the grooms mother who passed away a couple years ago.
I am blessed to have a supportive and helpful hubby.  I have been struggling with shoulder issues so he cranked out 4 batches of frosting for me before he left for work in the morning.  I could not have done it without him, and then once we arrived he helped me to set it all up.

The wedding was beautiful, held in a refurbished older building.  Take a look at this beautiful ceiling

The lighting was programed to change colors throughout the night which was beautiful for the wedding setting but horrible for those of us who took pictures.

They had goldfish in the centerpieces as part of an I SPY game because the newlyweds went on a Daytona Beach honeymoon.  Gifts for the bride and groom went beneath a beautiful Christmas Tree.

Meet Henry

I would like to introduce you to Henry, he is my new little buddy...

In the NEW Spring Catalog, Stampin' Up! has a cute stamp called HENRY SAYS #128090 $29.95 Wood Mount or #128093 $21.95.  This is a versatile stamp set that you will definitely want to have in your stamp collection. I started making cards with this cute set and now Henry has become a part of my everyday life.

So...Henry Says...  MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Tonight we will celebrate Christmas with our children and grandchildren, and Henry is ready to celebrate with us. Henry went grocery shopping with us and helped us pick out the yummy ham that we will be serving tonight.

 Here he is all buckled up and ready to go, but my hubby let Henry take a turn at driving for just a bit.

 

This ham looks just about right...

 

Henry asked if he could take a short ride on the grocery conveyor belt...

I better not tell him about the penny horsey ride at Meijer or he will want to do that too.

Snowball Fight Anyone?

This is the fun punch art card I made for our two grandchildren Tyler and Gracie for Christmas.  I am so thankful for people like Jackie Topa who comes up with these cute punch art creations and allows people like to me copy her. Click HERE to get the directions for the Faux Snow technique.  Tyler and Gracie are looking forward to their first winter in their new home.  If Michigan gets more snow than last year they will have a nice spot for sledding.

Snow Swirled

A variety of sizes of circle (Dies and Punches) team up to create this cute snowman inspired by Gina Dygert.  Once again I am using up some old Designer Paper and it makes me so happy that I hung on to some of these retired pieces.

Owl Santa

 Here I go again...I must REALLY love punch art - and I KNOW that I love

the Owl Builder Punch!  Lynda Lee featured this on her blog so I wanted

 to give it a try.  I changed up how I did the Roof by hand cutting the shape I wanted

then scrunched it up, then used the INK TO PAPER TECHNIQUE and just swiped

the ink pad across the Chocolate Chip Card Stock.  I did the same technique for

the chimney but I did not scrunch that piece.

Santa's little bag of Christmas gifts is simply the owl punch turned upside down

the 'knot' on the bag is the owl's foot.  Clever - huh!

Christmas Lodge

 A favorite Christmas Stamp that was carried over into the new catalog!! Yeah!! This "technique" is called a Z Fold.  Simply cut your Card Stock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"

 Colors: Early Espresso, Garden Green and Very Vanilla.  A little Dazzling Details on the snowy roof gives it some sparkle.
