Sweet Saturday

Recently I had the privilege to teach Kayla, an up and coming cupcake and cake baker how to make frosting roses.  At 14 years old she has already begun a nice little business making delicious, specialty cupcakes, but is really hoping to broaden into cakes as well.
We had fun discussing all the in's an out's of decorating, and selling her cupcakes.

Younger sister, Anna, also wanted to learn and was surprisingly good at frosting roses too.

Little sister, Samantha and sweet little Chopin was our audience.

Mom has been so great helping Kayla get her business off the ground.  I was happy to be a part of helping them out.

I made up a cute little cupcake holder for Kayla to display a cupcake in.

Normally I HATE spiders.  I FREAK OUT when I see one, and usually have to have Dale rush to my rescue to squish the little invaders.  BUT... this little spider stamp is so cute, and at least he is not crawling around in my house.  the stamp set is call A LITTLE SOMETHING and I also have a disgust relationship with the webs, BUT...once again these SPIDER WEB DOILIES are so cute.  This is a fun treat put together using the SQUARE PILLOW BOX THINLITS DIES.  In fact you can team up the stamp set and the Pillow box die as a bundle and save 15%!!

This card features the SPIDER WEB DOILIES and the AMONG THE BRANCHES stamp set.  You can team up the stamp set with the WOODLAND TEXTURED EMPRESSIONS EMBOSSING FOLDER in to bundle and save 15%

 Here's another fun one

Just so you know - the SPIDER WEB DOILIES are black on one side but white on the other side.  You can color them with markers or ink daubers or keep them plain white.  Lookie what else: when you cut them apart: a princess crown - how fun is that!!

One  more card:  This one teams the Embossing Folder, the AMONG THE BRANCHES stamp set, the cute SPIDER WEB DOILIES and... the SEASONAL FRAME THINLITS DIES.  With this set of dies you get 4 words: "Spooky", "Snow", "Grateful" and "FALALA".  This one, too, has a bundle with the SPARKLY SEASON stamp set (15% discount)!!  The FINE TIP GLUE PEN is perfect for adhering the fine words. I will have everything listed below for your convenience.

What is your favorite day of the week?
Sundays, of course, are great! We get to worship our Savior with fellow believers.
Monday's are great - it is my hubby's day off, so it is fun having him around.  During the summer months we get to have Tyler and Gracie on Mondays so that is fun too!  and Once a month on Monday's I have Stamp a Stack Class.
Tuesday's - now Tuesdays are the best! I open my home up for you all to come stamp with me and I enjoy the lively conversations with all the ladies who join me.  Once a month on Tuesday I get to meet with my team of Christi's Creative Crew - a great group of ladies that I am privileged to call my team. And once a month on Tuesday I have Projects Class
Thursday's are often a day to catch up on some errands, maybe some grocery shopping and I get to spend time with my Mama and take her swimming for water aerobics.  Sometimes I fit my workshops into an empty Thursday.
Friday's many times I get to work on my projects, some times bake cakes, sometimes just catch my breath.
Saturday's I get to spend with my hubby again.  Not that we spend every waking moment together but it is just nice having him home.  Once a month on Saturday I have a Stamp a Stack class!  ALWAYS FUN! During this time of year we are usually very busy with craft sales.
Did I miss WEDNESDAY?!  I would never miss Wednesday!  Wednesday is MOVIE DAY with my pal, Jackie!  and Jackie just had a birthday!  The perfect gift - a gift card for the movies!!

She loved it!!  M&M's and a mint along with the gift card.  What movie did we see yesterday?  Well, yesterday we forfeited our movie because instead we went to see the play THE GREAT GATSBY at our local Civic Theater after enjoying dinner out.

Guess the movie gift card will wait a week!

Another beautiful card using the Timeless Elegance Designer Paper

I loved the (now retired) designer paper called Something Borrowed, but I thought that this print from the TIMELESS ELEGANCE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER PACK was very much like that paper so I was thrilled!  I used up my retired flowers on these cards and will really miss them.  I generated the words on the computer because they are just what I wanted.  I thought this would make a great engagement card or even a bridal shower card.

Time to share another card made using the Timeless Elegance Designer Paper.  I truly enjoy this entire stack of paper.  I will remind you of the first card I made using this Designer Paper

The flip side of this paper was used on this card.  I thought that these two were the most plain of the pack so I wanted to be sure to make a point of using them, and this guy card is perfect using the GUY GREETINGS stamp set.

Sentimental Sunday

This Sentimental Sunday post was very unexpected.  Yesterday our son, Jeff, texted to let us know that Jessica took Sawyer (14 months old) to the hospital because he was severely dehydrated.  Earlier this week Sawyer has a laser procedure done to correct a tongue-tie and a lip-tie issue that he was born with but that they were unaware of.  Since then he has not wanted to nurse and up until now he has not been able to eat "people" food.  This all led up to the hospital visit today.  They stayed with him overnight and will most likely be able to take him home sometime today.  It was very encouraging to see him liven up when we came and he looked so much better just getting the IV fluids in him.  He even ate his first mashed potatoes!!  Big progress!!  While we were there it was fun to listen as he is trying out new sounds with his freed up tongue and he "almost" stuck his tongue out at me when I prompted him.  So grateful for the amazing care they are giving him at the Children's Hospital.

Jeff had to work all day so was glad to get some time with his little buddy

According to Sawyer's Grandpa Weaver, Sawyer is wired for surround sound (a just-in-case precaution)

Sawyer was heading to bed after we left, but first they need to do stretching "exercises" on his treated area of the mouth so it doesn't grow back.  The doctor that did Sawyers procedure earlier this week called him an anomaly.

Because of this issue, Sawyer compensated in how he nursed and never got the total nutrition he needed.  Boy, are we thankful for Doctors who know their business.  Now he is nursing the full time AND starting on table food!!  We should see this little guy grow leaps and bounds now.

   Thanks for stopping by!
