Sawyer had to go back to ER in the middle of the night because he was throwing up and his feeding tube came out. This made for a very tired mommy and daddy the next day, but Sawyer seemed to take it all in stride.
They were delivered this pump for his feedings which gives Jessica a chance to be hands free during the 55 minutes that it take for each of his meals.
Friends and family have been so kind and Sawyer sure doesn't lack for creative toys and books to keep him occupied during this time.
It is fun to see Sawyer exercise his new found freedom with his tongue and this will help him with his eating. We cannot wait for him to crave table food, but we are thankful for every new step he makes in his progress.
Not much is stopping this little guy - he has learned to climb the steps like a pro, and he is on the verge of walking.
He likes to play under the kitchen table especially now that the heat has been turned on, but they are putting a stop to that because he wants to unplug the diffuser all the time and they need to keep that running to keep the germs out of the house. Can't take any chances of him (or mommy and daddy) getting sick.
He even gets into his fair share of mischief
Of course, I love it when he gets excited when Gramm stops by, and am thankful when I can help out.
He has had some really good feeding therapy sessions, but the progress is slow. He is not tolerating some of the foods or the amount which causes him to vomit, but if you think of him and Jeff and Jess we sure would appreciate your prayers for them. This is a long road to wellness. Thank you to everyone who have pitched in with meals, visits and acts of kindness, they really appreciate it.
Thanks for stopping by!
