Sentimental Sunday

Decorating the Christmas Tree is always a special day for us because we have the grand kids come to help us.  For 12 years it has been Tyler and then Gracie, but this year was Sawyer's first year to join us.

Each year we get the kids a new ornament for our tree.  When they grow up and move out on their own they will get to take their ornaments with them.  They are chosen based on their likes for that year or a special event for the past year.
These are the ornaments that we had for them this year.  They were purchased on our trip to Arizona.

 Sawyer's... We got the biggest laugh when we realized that people in Arizona decorated their yard cactuses for Christmas.  Very cool!

Little Miss Lilyanna was not in the picture on our trip to Arizona so this is the one she got for her first Christmas ornament.

 After we decorate the tree we head out for a fun dinner out. It was a beautiful winter day

The restaurant of choice is Steak 'n Shake.  It all started when we took Tyler out the first time when he was 18 months old and now they ALWAYS choose Steak 'n Shake EVERY year.
One of the best things is that Sawyer is finally eating table food.  This was a long journey for him and Jeff & Jess, but he no longer has his G-Tube and he ate his entire grilled cheese sandwich like a champ (in fact, when I look back at the records that I kept on our kids, Sawyer is just a bit bigger than his daddy was at this same age.)
