Gracie helped me to pull out some non-holiday items that I had assembled while I recovered, but then I got to thinking how fun it would be to make some special things with a Farmers Market feel. Jo Kincart made this adorable Pig in a Crate so I gave it a try. She gave no instructions so I had to wing it. It is a time consuming item but was also fun to make.
It folds flat and will fit in a 5x7 envelope.
I love the Wood Crate Die and normally when you make the crate it has a bottom but I cut that off so that it could fold down. I added a 3/4" strip to the center to help support the balloon display.
Our community is a dutch community and was founded on the farmers who saw the great resources of planting their vegetables in the rich, muck soil. You may have seen me mention before on my blog how I help to judge the 4-H still exhibits at our local fair the end of August and I get to judge a TON of pig notebooks so I thought this would be the perfect first item I made for this weekends Artisan Show, even if only for display!
The Wood Crate Thinlits Dies can be purchased alone or you can save 10% on the coordinating stamp set WOOD WORDS.
