Berry Basket for Easter

Thursday, January 22, 2015
I love it when my friend Carla comes to classes early (right from work)! I not only get to go to dinner with her but we also get a good chunk of time to stamp or try out new products.  We had been talking about the NEW Berry Basket Bigz L Die that is in the Occasions Catalog.
We started with Crumb Cake Cardstock to create a "traditional" berry basket.  My hubby's dad grew the most wonderful raspberries & strawberries along with a multitude of fresh produce - we certainly were spoiled!! and this Berry Basket Die reminds us of those days gone by and my hubby remembers having to pick all the berries during the summer. (Dad had so many that he hired the nieces and nephews to help pick - he never did the U-pick - I guess he didn't want anyone trampling his immaculate weed-free garden).  I even used the Handheld Stapler to make it look authentic.
Then we decided to use some Designer Series Paper for the sides, and a white scallop edge (also comes with the Berry Basket Die) I use retired Designer Paper when I am just playing around.
Then we pulled out the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Paper that is in the Sale a bration brochure and you can get this FREE with a $50 purchase from any current catalog.  "This white paper with a glossy white pattern is perfect for coloring using a variety of techniques - coloring reveals the pattern. 12 sheets: 2 each of 6 designs. 12"x12". We sponged Wild Wasabi on the bottom 1/3 and Pink Pirouette in the middle and then So Saffron on the top 1/3 plus the scallop trim.  The handle was made using the straight piece that comes out with the Die and we sponged that with Pink Pirouette. Two little butterflies from the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set were stamped in Marina Mist and cut out using the coordinating Thinlits I had some bright green Easter grass left from last year and it made it so very cute.  I can't wait to fill it with some goodies for Gracie for Easter and then... I get to make more for Tyler and Sawyer!  These are the perfect size - not too big, yet big enough to spoil them with treats.
Here you can see them all together
Thanks for stopping by!
