Exploring In Color Paper Pumpkin

Saturday, June 3, 2023

Thursday night was our monthly Paper Pumpkin Night

We had an extra large group this time because the EXPLORING IN COLOR KIT was so amazing that everyone wanted it and I was so happy that so many wanted to come to work on it together

I worked on the kit kit during the day because there were several ideas that I wanted to do and I knew they took a lot more thought process with measuring and figuring.

I had a table full of ideas for them to bounce off complete with cutting instructions

We all worked and had so much fun bouncing ideas off one another. I even got to meet a new friend to stamping.

Here are some of the cards that I made ahead or the gals made that night

This next one is a box made from a card base.

This window die is called HEARTH & HOME. Long ago retired but I don't have the heart to sell it.
This is called a book binding card, I haven't added a sentiment because I want to have some basic masculine cards on hand that I can add the sentiment when needed.

Yesterday I worked on the kit some more and basically just went through all of my layout ideas. The next 8 cards are the ones I made the next day. The card bases in the add on kit are so gorgeous.
I added a few little bluebirds to this card. The circle was cut out using the Layering Circles Dies (retired)
Countryside Corners Dies are featured on this card. For the tiny little white layer I just trimmed around it because there isn't a die to fit the size. I also used the In color 6x6 Designer Paper
One card front made two cards. I put the "happy" on the front, and then "birthday" on the inside. I also pulled out an old Paper Pumpkin stamp for the "This calls for a celebration"

This is one of the card bases that came in the kit, and I was able to get two card fronts out of this one card base.
This is a swing arm card.
RAYS OF LIGHT background stamp worked perfectly for this card which was actually made from one of the envelopes. Some made them plain and I added some birds and a sentiment from a previous Paper Pumpkin Kit
STITCHED RECTANGLES DIES are sadly missed, but that doesn't mean we can't use them for cute cards like this...
This was one of the cards I made in advance, watching a video from Ali's Wonderland on Youtube.

I loved this idea from Lisa Curcio with the fish coming right out of the water when you pull on the linen thread. There is a cool die in the GONE FISHING Dies that creates a ripple in the water and cuts a slit for the fish to fit into. I'm planning to save this one for my hubby when he retires next year. He's hoping to get in more fishing when he's retired. The sentiment also came from GONE FISHING
The card base with the bison was probably the hardest, but even though I started out making birthday cards, I thought it would be great for graduation cards too. We have 3 graduating from our family this year. Which means I need three cards, I have 2 sisters who buy my cards and my dad needed 3 cards and I had to coordinate so no one got two cards the same between the four of us.
These two cards were also cased from Ali on Youtube. I have not found a blog for her so I just watch her on Youtube, but these cards take 2 bases for each card because you cut out several areas and then pop them up onto a second card base using your Stampin' Dimensionals.
The sentiments on these cards are all from past Paper Pumpkin kits
Another Ali creation for a Z-Fold and using the GRASSY GROVE Stamp Set and dies
I really wanted to give this idea a try when I saw it from Debbie Henderson. I used the BASIC BORDERS DIES for the point, and I sealed it shut with a mini velcro circle.
WHEW! That's a lot of cards! and many of these were made with duplicates. I'm sure between the 10 of us we got close to 100 cards made because I know that I made at least 50 cards myself alone.
