Christi's Creative Crew: Barrel of Monkeys

Today is our grandson, Sawyer's 9th birthday.

Some of you have asked how he is doing with his XP. (Xeroderma Pigmentosum)

You may remember the fund raiser we held for his care several years ago.

Well, Sawyer is doing great! he will NEVER be without this condition, but he handles his differences so well.

It's probably harder for us to see that he has to miss out on the basics of childhood - running through a sprinkler, going to the beach, going in and out of doors without having to cover himself up with all that protective gear, but he is a trooper.

He needs to have regular eye exams and skin testing

And he recently got new shoes and braces for his legs

But today is a special day! Sawyer turns 9 years old!!

We take the grandkids out for a birthday dinner, and then let them pick out their own gift from a local store. Sawyer really wanted a new pair of slippers, but I also couldn't resist buying him a Barrel Of Monkeys because of how much he loves Curious George.

I made him this slim line card for his birthday inspired by Jessica Lewis

The finished size of this slimline card measures 8-1/2" x 3-1/2"

The original card used the "little" "little" "little" "Little Monkey" from the LITTLE MONKEYS stamp set but I chose to use the "happy" "happy" "happy" "Happy Birthday" from DAYS TO REMEMBER stamp set.
