Christi's Creative Crew: He's The Man Anniversary

I love this clever anniversary card

This card combines two stamp sets:

HE'S THE MAN & TRUCKING ALONG

The METAL PLATE embossing folder gives it that masculine feel. I also used NESTED ESSENTIALS Dies and Pecan Pie card stock. I did emboss the pecan pie piece with a retired embossing folder, but you can use whatever you have on hand.

The tricky part that I had to figure out was how to stamp the "Together for the long haul"

You can see that the stamp is in a total circle with a cute VW Van in the center. If I stamp it as-is, the truck hides the words "for the" and "long" and the VW Van can be seen behind the truck.

The closer I looked at Kelly Taranto's sample (since she didn't give any directions) I realized that it actually wasn't a true circle, but was more oval like, so I inked up just the words and the lines from the top of the stamp and stamped it onto the STYLISH SHAPES second largest circle, then I washed it off then repeated it with the bottom half.

Another tip is that I laid a post-it note over the top section that I stamped so that I did get any leftover ink stamped onto the first area.

I think that this card could easy be for your spouse as well as an anniversary card to send to someone else.

The truck was stamped with Memento Ink and stamped again with Midnight Muse. I also used the second smallest circle die from GIVE IT A WHIRL dies.
