Christi's Creative Crew: Sentimental Sunday

It's been a while since I have had a SENTIMENTAL SUNDAY post, but I am posting today because our hearts are heavy.

We have three of the sweetest dogs, who hold such a HUGE place in our hearts and in our home.

Our middle pup, Katy, only 6-1/2 years old was recently diagnosed with kidney failure.

The vet was so compassionate, and we are extremely thankful for the care that she has received.

We chose to keep her home and administer her meds here while she awaits her final day.

We are cherishing all the moments that we have left with her.

Katy is the absolute sweetest! Even the vet and the vets assistants all said what a sweet pup she is.

In true form, Katy would growl at any big dogs that they would bring back.

She always loved to "run the fence" with the neighbor dog, Dexter, who is a very large black lab. She was always ready to "take him on!!"

Katy was our squirrel catcher - only really catching one, but all we had to say was "Katy, go get the squirrel" and she would rush outside to find it. It was quite a source of entertainment.

Now when I say "squirrel" she just lifts her head, and knows that her squirrel chasing days are over.

We don't know how many days we have left with her, but we are cherishing every moment that we have, taking advantage of snuggles whenever we can.

Her "sisters" Lucy & Tori can tell something is "up", because they seem to be extra attentive and calm.

And Sawyer drew Katy a picture.

We sure are going to miss her. Praying that we get weeks or months and not just days.
