Fun Friday

Saturday, September 1, 2012
Yesterday was the last full day of summer break that I had my grand kids with me.
Once school starts we will still do the before and after bit three days a week
but I wanted to make this last day fun.

The local bowling alley was our target spot for activity today, but an unexpected
delight happened when a gal from church said we could come and pick
green and yellow beans from her garden while they were away at their cottage.

YEAH!!

Tyler and Gracie were the best bean pickers ever!!
We came home with enough beans for their afternoon treat (their request!)
and some for our dinner planned for tonight.
We were even allowed to pick a few tomatoes!!
These fresh Veggies were like a gold mine for me.

Here they are picking away...

Next Stop on our fun day...  Bowling!!

I love that our local Bowling Alley has Bargain Bowling for only $1.00 from
August 1 - Labor Day.  Shoes, small french fries also only $1.00
so we knew when we went there that we were going to splurge

Poor Gracie, no matter how hard or what she tried, her bowling ball ALWAYS
went either to the far left or the far right

She tried the ball "slide"

 She tried a different ball
Big Brother, Tyler tried helping
Tyler did pretty good...
He even got a strike in his second game!!  WOOT!! WOOT!!

Between the two games we splurged on ice cream at Ice Cream Alley

They both chose Superman ice cream
And there is nothing better than to combine Salty and Sweet!
The bowling alley has the BEST beer batter french fries!!
Gramma had a sundae too!!  YUMMO!
Gracie got a hold of my camera
This is the bowling alley through her  eyes!!

 Silly girl!

When we came home after bowling the kids were anxious to clean and 'snap'
the beans.  Gracie ended up drenched but they sure had fun doing it
and it kept them busy for nearly an hour!!  SCORE!!

 Look at our 'haul'
Afterwards the kids pitched in to help Gramma clean the condo because
we have very special guests arriving later this morning!!
My Pen Pal, Becky and her husband Bob from Fort Wayne!!
We have been corresponding for 43 years!  yes, you heard that right! 43 YEARS!!
We see each other once or twice a year, but this year must be special because
this makes the third time together this year!! I was thrilled when Becky signed
up to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator under me!!
Gracie is helping with some dusting
She also climbed in the bathtub to scrub it down.

Tyler did a wide variety of tasks from cleaning the toilets
to cleaning the glass tv stand
and here he is swiping down some cobwebs

What did Gramma do while they were slaving away??

Not really - but thought it was funny to have Tyler take this staged picture

Thanks for joining us on our Fun Friday!
