Be Still & Know That I Am God

Tuesday, March 4, 2025

Difficult situations happen all the time, but we are thankful that we have a God who loves us, and will always be by our side, no matter what.

Our son, Jeff, and his wife, Jessica, were expecting baby #5 due to arrive late June.

At their 20 week ultrasound, at the end of January, they found out that baby had multiple abnormalities.

This is what they shared in our church newsletter:

"Please pray for Jeff and Jessica Waite. They received difficult news at her 20 week ultrasound this past week. Their precious baby has multiple abnormalities involving the brain, face and heart. She will be seeing maternal fetal medicine on Feb. 11 for genetic testing and a more detailed ultrasound. They are confident in God's ability to heal and are praying for a miracle! At the same time they rest in His goodness no matter His plan. Please pray for their hearts as they process all of this and wait to learn more."

What a hard thing to hear, and we are still processing the sadness that our hearts feel.

Genetic testing revealed that baby does have Trisomy 13 condition

This is the explanation of Trisomy 13

Trisomy 13, also known as Patau syndrome, is a rare genetic disorder caused by an extra copy of chromosome 13. This additional chromosome disrupts normal development, leading to a range of serious medical issues.
Grand baby #8 is a GIRL!  and they named her Everleigh Hope - meaning Everlasting Hope (because Christ is our Everlasting Hope)
Jeff and Jess are struggling to say the least, and yet they are strong. Strong in their faith that God is in control, and that He is GOOD even in the difficult situations. He is the one constant in our lives who never changes.
They do not know what the future holds for this little girl, whether she will make it to birth or how long after birth she would survive, but they do know the ONE who holds her hand, and they are still praising God for this little girl.
Jeff said "May we remember as Job did during his trial that God is good, and no amount of trials or tribulation on earth can change that"

I wanted to make them a card to share in their sorrow.

I pulled out a retired set called HOLD ON TO HOPE, and teamed it up with some of the free DSP that we got during SAB called Bloom Impressions. The cross is inked up with Petunia Pop and stamped off for a lighter image. The sentiment is stamped with Early Espresso and the greenery was stamped with Shy Shamrock.

My Tuesday Stampers love to have Faith Based cards and I have actually held several Faith Based Classes, so I decided to prepare some cards for them just like it, thinking that they may have someone who could use the encouragement as well.

Please keep our children in your prayers if they come to mind. We know that God cares so deeply about each and every child that is conceived, and this baby was no different.
